I've bought her one for £5!! It looks fab and I just need to get some stabilisers so assuming the local bike shop will have some (nice to support local business too). Am collecting it later and can't wait to see her face! Now I just need to find a cheapish trampoline!

Off for a family day out once buyer has collected trike which I sold for £12.50 so pleased with that.

It's a glorious day here - hope you all enjoy the sunshine.

Kitchen designer was here for 3 hours!
He did design a beautiful kitchen based on new boiler and knocking down some stud walls though. Tbh, I am tempted but at a quote of £18,500 we will not be having it!

Our kitchen is nearly finished and we have used local tradesmen for everything. We had a kitchen company to start with to give us a quote 2 years ago which was £16000+ and that was for the kitchen, electrics, plumbing, granite and range cooker. What we have actually spent for absolutely everything including knocking out a chimney breast, plastering, range cooker, granite worktops, paint, flooring, tiling, new chrome sockets will come in at around £12000! This includes paying tradesmen to do everything except the painting which I did.

A joiner made the cupboards himself out of waterproof MDF and sprayed them with 6 very fine coats of eggshell paint. They are shaker style and look just like the ones in the posh kitchen shop showroom but a fraction of the price.

It can be done for much less than these ludicrous quotes :)

Your kitchen sounds gorgeous. We had a huge reduction too if we had a show kitchen as original quote was over £22,000 but the price of £8,000 for the building work was fixed. Then they offered me a finance deal at 24% APR! I think I would be booted off this site if I agreed to that :D

Have had a lovely morning at the zoo, picked up DD's bike but not giving it to her until we've got some stabilisers which I can get off ebay for £7.50 with delivery.

Trying to do a 25p survey on Onepoll but it won't let me answer 2 of the questions (I need to drag comments into boxes)

It has really clouded over here and cooled right down -so different to this morning but DH is more willing to do some painting now!

Need to sort out a food shop for going away as Mr S have given me a £6 off £60 spend and I read they are offering 10p off a litre of petrol if you spend £60 aswell. This will be handy for filling up the car for Devon next week.

Nursery is painted! DH just needs to touch up the edges tomorrow and put curtain pole up and I can start to get things ready in there.

DD is at nursery for a few hours tomorrow as although I am off she has to go 8 hours a week to keep her place.

I am debating whether to quickly cut the grass as the rain has held off for now! Problem is I'm hungry but if i wait it will probably tip it down.

Nursery is now decorated and cleaned. I just want to hang the curtains and bedding etc on the line to blow and then they can go in place too. Was all set to do my Mr S food shop while DD at nursery but realised the petrol offer doesn't start until tomorrow.

She is in nursery till 2pm and after quickly chatting to the manager as I dropped her off she feels she will be going into the 'classroom' before long. That will make her feel very grown up.

Right, must get on, still so much to do. Am thinking of going strawberry picking (for the first time in my life may I add) when we pick DD up as it should be fun to do. I feel guilty that it's our day off and we're not having a day out although we had a fab day at the zoo yesterday. DH went shopping last night to get me pavlova ingredients and Mr A had completely run out of strawberries!
