Glad you all enjoyed the wedding. Sick of companies letting me down at the moment (ocado for a start!) Hope you get the voucher and it really does only take 30 mins!

Our kitchen really would benefit from a refurb but as the boiler is housed at the back of the understairs cupboard it all needs doing together. However ideally I want an extension before any of this is done so won't be for at least 5 years. The design is based on current kitchen so hopefully won't appeal at all!

It is hard to save for an extension when all I want to do is send spare money to the mortgage though!

I know the feeling. We've nearly finished converting our garage and needless to say it's cost more than we were anticipating and although I'm excited about the extra space I'm a little bit depressed that I've had to spend the money rather than overpay the mortgage!

I hope that all is well with you :D

Not a bad morning so far, sun is shining and it looks like it's going to be a glorious day. :j

Woke up before DD so had an hour or so to myself so listed 3 items on ebay, tidied kitchen in preparation for designer coming this morning and caught up on some sky plus with a coffee. Just need to hang some washing out and do some cleaning and I'll be happier!

DH is off work Monday and Tuesday so we can get the nursery finished. Ceiling needs painting and the walls a second coat. I can't wait to put everything in its place and hang curtains etc. For the first time ever though we won't have a 'spare room' and our house will be full to capacity!!

I'm 26 weeks tomoro and it's going toooo quickly, I need time to slow down. Also think baby turned last night as I had the strongest/bizarre movement. Think I need to be prepared for kicks aimed at my ribs now :)

Kitchen designer was here for 3 hours!
He did design a beautiful kitchen based on new boiler and knocking down some stud walls though. Tbh, I am tempted but at a quote of £18,500 we will not be having it! I just need to cancel his visit tomorrow once DH comes home from work and then hope I get sent my £50 of M&S vouchers! I actually don't think the quote is too bad but we simply can't finance it and it's a lot of money! I do feel that I've wasted their time but if they will cold call people they will get responses like this! :)

I missed lunch and am tired now so hoping DD has a nap even though it's a bit late in the day. She's lying down just not sleeping!

Michelle I'm glad i'm not the only one who has had a crazy quote!

The design really is fab and if it was 10k less I would have signed up immediately. I really think we need to replace our boiler sooner rather than later as with that done it would be easier to visualise a new kitchen and get it done much cheaper. Only fair to wait for DH to come home and give his opinion before I say 'no' just in case he has £18,500 lying around. I dread to think what interest I would be paying on this kitchen! I will just tell them we can't finance it and hopefully stop the pressure sales tactics before they start.

I need to get into the mindset of saving aswell as overpaying.

Phonecall made to cancel appointment tomorrow with the kitchen designer. DH thought the plans sounded great but it is just too expensive.

I've sold DD's first trike, she is far too big for it so we need to get her a big girl bike. Problem is as her birthday is in September we always end up buying her birthday presents early. She had a trike her first summer and little tykes garden toys last year. Is 3 about the right age for a proper bike with stabilisers? I'm surprised a new bike would be cheaper than what we paid for her trike! I'd also like to get her a trampoline but I can't afford everything.

Have 2 days off with DH now so plan of action tomoro is the zoo and a tidy up and finish the nursery tuesday whilst DD is at nursery for a few hours. Would be nice if some surveys came my way too - weekends are too quiet on the money making front.

If you have Freecycle/Gumtree in your area that might be a good place to look for a second hand bike. At three, she won't know the difference and will be thrilled to be a "big girl" in any bike ;)
