That will be great Cath, still a cheap break so enjoy it :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

So strange that you are going to the sun hols same time as us - we are going to Cayton Bay near Bridlington in North Yorkshire as it is only an hour away from my mum, dad, grandma and they want to come and spend DD2s bday with her.
We go on the 4th July for 5 days. We have stuck with the budget option so ours cost about 90. I'm so so excited, cannot wait. Ours is about 2 hours by car, as the only driver in the household I don't do long trips not with my DD1 anyway she's a nightmareOPs so far £42,139
Original end date Nov 2037 (53) Current end date June 2024 (40) Aiming for 5 years to be Mf

Thanks everyone, I can't wait to go. In a way it doesn't feel like a 'proper' holiday as it's not abroad but it is exactly what we need and I don't do abroad nearly 6 months pregnant and with a 2 year old!
Sarahevie we go on the 4th for 4 days, I now wish it was a little longer but I suggested to DH we do the Zoo on our last day as we will be checking out at 10am but he is worried about being tired from a full day at the zoo followed by a 5 hour drive home which I totally understand. Don't want to waste our last day though. Tbh I think next year if we go back to Devon we will book direct so we can make our own choices, just depends if it's a lot more expensive. I will be going back to work in June 2012 so an April/May break would make sense.
I am assuming the caravans come fully equipped with plates, cutlery etc? Please correct me if I am wrong! Didn't tell me much online.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Ours had a pretty well stocked kitchen to be fair in terms of cutlery, plates, saucepans etc and we were in the basic model, so I assume you'll be fine. It wont have washing up liquid, tea towels, bin bags etc.0

Right back to the mortgage: cashflow is not great this month. Realised my graduate account converts to a normal account at the end of July and I have an overdraft of £900 which is currently interest free and I have just sent money monthly to reduce this from £1250. I think I should use my planned OP funds to pay this off. I really do not want to be paying interest on an Overdraft for the first time in my life! Do people honestly live in their overdraft?
Also, any money I make from selling DD's old clothes (should receive £20 ish next week) I will keep as personal spends as I have bought quite a bit for this baby so hopefully it will make it neutral in terms of spending and keep the current account topped up.
Should hit payout on Onepoll next week as am up to £35.25 (way behind everyone else) at the moment and can send that as an OP when it arrives.
I think I need to reflect and realise that even if I only OP £82 this month I have OP'd by £2000 already this year and we have a big mortgage with a very modest income!
We don't struggle at all but I feel guilty if I don't OP what I planned to!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Midwife at 10:15, can't wait as it feels like I haven't been for ages. Interested to see if I measure 'big for dates'. I am not big to begin with and my bump is all baby so am a little curious!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

You shouldn't feel guilty for not OPing what you were going to. Life likes throwing curve balls at us all the time, we just have to adapt and get back to it later.
A lot of people do live in their overdrafts yes. I don't have one, because for me they're like a credit card and an excuse to spend when you don't need to.
My acc is looking a bit dire this month but hoping it catches up next month as we're away for a week so theoretically I shouldn't touch it.0 -
Thanks yukkibear, I am going to OP £150 which is only £50 extra out of wages as regular bills standing order covers the £100 OP due to reducing other bills. This takes my mortgage end date to June 2029.
All went ok at midwife, she commented I look pale but I am exhausted so I guess that's to be expected. Confirmed I am seeing consultant on the same day as my GTT next month so I can ask again then about homebirth and ? need for further scans.
DD has been really hard work this morning, I hope she burns off whatever is making her a handful in nursery this afternoon. Discovered she is a food snob though, she turned her nose up at some Aldi food the other day (grapes weren't the nicest) and when we pulled up outside Aldi earlier she said 'no, I want to go to Sainsbury's!!' However I only spent £25 and it may possiblylast 5-7 days so was worth the minor tantrum.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
