Thanks PF, here's hoping!Well I've woken up to rain this morning so am relieved I somehow found the motivation to mow the lawn late afternoon yesterday. Was planning to do the edging today so hopefully the rain will soon pass.Just had a nose at my student loan (from my very pointless first degree) and it looks like it will be paid off in around 5 years which isn't too terrible and the balance is coming down nicely. Would still rather not see it go out of my wages even though that money is likely to get ported to the mortgage when it ends anyway!£5.10 overpayment which was a mix of extra CB cash and 10p from tcb.Plans for today include a charity shop run, supermarket shop and picking up our new car. If the sun comes out hopefully we can test it out and get out for a nice trip with the dog too.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5

Had a fairly busy and productive day. Managed to cut 2 of the badges hedges at the front, bin emptied and ready to be refilled when the rest are done at the weekend.82p tilly tidy this morning and then cashed out £2.05 on a survey site so sent that too. We still have a way to go to knock another month off but I'm hoping all these little ones add up.Weather forecast to be dry tomorrow so planning on a walk in the afternoon. Housework up to date, it's been lovely to able to potter during my week off rather than rushing around getting it done. Am not sure that's meant to be the highlight of a week off work!!August spends

I've just edited, meant to be hedges but my phone obviously didn't like that!Slow start here, woken feeling tired despite having a nap yesterday aswell. However, washing machine on, most of us fed and watered. Need to ring up to pay off car finance and then sort out small refund I will probably overpay. Other than a long walk later I will be found in the sunshine (when it comes out) reading my book.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!5 -
Well my careful approach to finances is unravelling this month! Had to find an extra £900 for car at short notice to clear the balance and the normal payment went out today aswell whilst I was waiting for funds to clear. Once payment clears I'll chase that up and request a refund. Refund from garage processed too so hoping to see that in the account tomorrow. We've had a kitchen tap replaced so need to pay for that in the morning too. There's a bit too much money shuffling happening over the last few days!43p overpayment this morning to keep up the momentum......
Had a couple of niggling tasks bugging me. The first was to check again what days I need childcare at the beginning of September which I've done and noted. The second I'm yet to do is find where I wrote down what size blazer dd needs for highschool after she tried them on. I keep notes but they are not always to hand and involve a bit of searching through my phone!Off to find it and write it down. Notesbooks really are underestimated!
