Spring has definitely disappeared in our part of the world although did enjoy some lovely sunshine on my drive back from the gym. Dh took the children for a walk on the beach yesterday so I now have lots of washing I was hoping to line dry but it's getting pretty breezy out there!
Smashed my workout this morning (40 minutes of heavy weights and increased most of my weights) think I need some gloves for lifting as the weight isn't a problem but my grip is. Will have to research these and hope they're not too expensive.
Got a few admin jobs to do today, dh has emailed fitbit as it's broken so hopefully a replacement can be sorted out, their customer service really is excellent. I need to move savings from t3sco as they're reducing the interest rate to 1% and we get 5% in Nat1onwide although I will miss having monthly interest as I used to overpay it. I have updated signature and also managed to knock an extra month off spreadsheet fiddling. We go on to a new fixed rate next month so daily interest drops from £5.85 to £3.98. I added an extra £10 onto regular overpayment which takes into account 8ky savings and throughout the fixed rate period this knocks off a month :j
Now need to find around £440 to get us to December 2027
£12.92 overpaid today from money I found lurking in tcb this morning.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Nice job on your workout :T I'm going to be cancelling my gym membership soon so I'm trying to develop more workouts outside of the gym at the moment - so it doesn't feel like such an abrupt ending. The sunshine has helped a lot but today has gone all cold again.
My fitbit has broken again in the last few months - I do agree that their customer service is excellent but I'm close to giving up on it. The syncing just stops working after a few months for me. I think I'm probably running out of free replacements too haha.0 -
Having a productive weekend so far. Gym smashed yesterday and today, 40 minutes of weights each day and boy can I feel it! Tweaked my form and it's definitely hit the spot!! Popped to hb and Icyland after the gym to stock up on protein sources and wanted to try the 'no bull' vegan range. Seem to have a lot of supplies for less than £20. Have done a vague mental meal plan for the week but might get something written down so we can put a shopping ban in place!! Have spent £57 and it's only the 3rd of the month!!

Hi Apple and greent, thank you for gloved recommendations. Had a great gym session (30 minutes of weights) after work tonight and got up to 85kg on hip abductor machine. Have hit my 15k steps but trying to get a little ahead of myself so can take it a bit easier towards the end of the week so will try and get some more done before bed.
We have managed to stay out of the supermarket for the last two days, are eating out of the freezer (loaf taken out to defrost to avoid a shopping trip). Have a few things on the shopping list but they're not essentials and we will just need milk tomorrow.
Do need to spend on some 'n0 more nails' as ds managed to pull down the coat hook trying to get his coat this morning!
60 points on y0ugov and another £2.20 requested from tcb which will be overpaid once it lands. Am doing our usual countdown to payday challenge I do this time of the month. 13 days until next bank credit and have an average daily spend of £21 left so it's definitely achievable which is good as I may need to borrow from that account!

Quick post from me, no life changing money saving activity but we continue to plod.
Trying to run down food supplies so I'm having some interesting food combinations. Gave dh a small shopping list today but he managed to spend £18 although in fairness we did need the other stuff aswell! Just looked quickly at receipt though and two items were much more expensive in Mr S than @ldi so need to make sure we keep stocked up from our @ldi runs.
Tomorrow should be a NSD which will bring us a step closer to payday.
But tired and achy today which is probably due to the gym yesterday but I am taking it as a sign that fat is being lost and muscle being grown!

Quick update from me....
£2.20 mortgage overpayment yesterday, we are scrabbling together what we can as at an uneventful part of the month financially! Am trying to keep account in credit through some clever stoozing and that should work until Tuesday! :rotfl:
Have also had to transfer some money from t3sco savings and put in N@tionwide but limited to £250 a month which is a bit annoying. Only transferring it as t3sco are reducing their interest rate on current account to 1%
Fab gym session this morning, did 50 minutes and worked really hard! Also had the gym to myself for the most part which was a bonus. Having a hungry week (hormones) so trying my best to be disciplined but the wagon wheels are wobbling! :rotfl: On a bonus, there is no granola left to sabotage my efforts!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Good morning! I was MIA yesterday due to Saturday's night out. I decided very last minute to drink and felt rough yesterday as barely drink anymore. This also meant I spent the day eating and have set myself back with fitness goals. THIS is why I don't drink!!
We spent £50 which wasn't bad for two of us plus taxis and had a brilliant night.
Managed to sort out the savings by using our n@tionwide accounts for children's money and paying our savings off the holiday balance so cc should be looking healthier. NSD on food over the weekend and dh has some cash and a very small list to top us up today.
Had a bit of a panic as one of the accounts was overdrawn by £20 (not figured out why) so corrected that and then panicked I hadn't paid piano yet (which I have and have literally just realised there were extras which is why it was overdrawn!) at least that's all sorted out though.
Plan is gym after work as unsurprisingly I missed yesterday's session so I need to finish packing my bag. Have I remain focus and disciplined from now on but accept this week as a bump in the road.
Plan for this week is keep spends low and accounts in credit!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well the accounts remain in credit and remaining food spends looking healthy. We have over £180 to last 6 days which is £140 more than we had at this stage last month.
We'll continue to run down freezer/cupboard supplies and keep spends low.
The forecast storm has hit tonight so hoping there's no damage to wake up to in the morning as it's been sounding pretty rough out there.
Waiting for some tcb and survey funds to land In the account so will overpay once received. Feel like I haven't overpaid anything for ages!! In reality it's probably been less than a week.
