Well it's mortgage payment day however the new rate hasn't kicked in. I checked paperwork and the date will be the 13th so think my spreadsheet will be slightly out but will correct when have updated figures. That said, we are now sub 60k on the larger mortgage and I have coloured in another brick in our house picture.

Have transferred £250 in n@tionwide account but annoyingly can't complete the shuffle as other savings in t3sco and the online system is down so I can't log in. I also need to pay today's food/fuel shop off the credit card so will keep checking - if not will try again in the morning.

DH has kicked off our April spends already so need to persuade him to stay away from the supermarket for a few days - I might have to take over the role a little as he seems to think we need a daily top-up shop :rotfl:

Just a quick update. Small food shop done but spends aren't too bad for 3 days into the month. Am trying to make careful meal choices using what we have and completely avoiding waste. There are only so many bananas I can get through though!

Have booked a cleaning company to do a spring clean for us which may seem extravagant but I think it will be £50 well spent and will be done over a morning when we already have plans. Am looking forward to coming home to a sparkly house. This did mean the infamous breakfast bar needing tackling again this evening!

We seem to have been over-generous with saving/overpayments this month and careful stoozing is needed to keep account in credit.

Nutrition goals smashed after a tricky few days. Consistency is absolutely key for me and I'm actually feeling more energised now.

    your focus is amazing

your DH sounds a little like mine, he'll just nip to co op and spend £10-£20 to top by my bimonthly Adly or lid ..

I failed miserably with spread sheet... I my head I know completely what I want ( for now) ..

Hi mfd, thank you. Would just love to be at my end goal for everything health and wealth related! I should regain control of the food shop but it's easier for him to do and I really don't like going! 'Please stick to the list' helps with damage limitation!

Not much progress this month, w me have saved/overpaid too much so stopping spends to keep account in credit which is working well so far but it won't last beyond Tuesday when the latest transactions clear! It should all balance out just before payday due to the expected surplus from food account.

Hally rewards have landed but will wait until car payments have cleared on the 10th before I overpay. No Tilly tidies done due to fragility of current account!

Shopping wise spends aren't too bad, £56 so far and we have a very full freezer so might do a meal plan for this week which will result in an 'absolutely necessary' shopping list this week.

Sun is actually shining here today but I expect it is still freezing out there. Off to the gym in a bit so will strip all the beds when I get back If it seems pleasant enough. Fingers crossed we are in for warmer weather.

    Goals for today are....

    Smash my workout and nutrition
    Make sure house tidy
Have lots of quality family time and some self care.
Catch up on n3tflix with dh later

Thanks Newgirly, I did everything except strip the beds so they're being done today. It's pretty cloudy but I'm hoping they dry on the line as have two other loads to do aswell!

Smashed 90 minutes in the gym yesterday (was sooo hungry the rest of the day). Have more of a back and arms workout planned today with a bit of legs. It's legs that exhaust me!

Dd has a residential trip this week so few bits and pieces needing purchasing for that and we will also pack later. Think it's going to be a day mostly at home doing reading etc. They have a fixed time limit on technology today as they're spending too much time on it.

May do some more account shuffling to keep main account in credit for a few more days. Another £25 spent yesterday on cinema (treat for the children, dh took in snacks) and £10 spent on two piano books for dd upcoming exam. Still waiting for a date but it's either this month or next month.

Right, I've had my two coffees so I'd best get ready for the gym!

Hi Apple, good thank you. No financial activity as at the expected slump of the month. I haven't even made any overpayments yet.

However, on a positive note the main account remains in credit. I read a post on jimmy's diary recently where he said we make a choice to be skint and can stop/reduce overpayments at any time. Rings so true for us.

Food spends looking good which will help balance our current account as can transfer some back from there when we are a bit closer to pay day. It does help that we have stayed out of the supermarket for 3 days!

Gym/nutrition going well. Have decided to end the diet phase and am now working on building more muscle, doing less cardio and eating more. The latter being the best bit. Will monitor my progress and amend everything as needed. I have been taught so much about this aspect of nutrition/dieting/building muscle so now it's time to put it into practise and enjoy the results!

Another day, another lack of food shop. A quick check of our supplies means we can hold off on a biggish shop for a few more days.

Am also keeping on top of jobs in the house, various forms filled in and ready to return to school tomorrow - this type of admin feels endless and usually come with requests for money. Dd wants to go on a trip in the Autumn which is comparable with the cost of a European Cory break! She'll be going an hour down the road! One lot of bedding on the line before work and dry when dh got back, barhroom cleaned whilst ds in the bath. I used to do this a lot when they were little, I'll do shower room in the morning before work and possibly hoover downstairs. We shall see - it largely depends on how many 'snoozes' I have!

Had a very productive morning today, a repeat would be welcome in the morning! Also managed to squeeze in a home weights workout after work, it's easy enough to do shoulders at home so hoping this will become a regular habit as an extra gym session currently isn't!

Small top up shop of £3.72 and £30 fuel so have been able to do some more stoozing. Realistically I think I can only stretch this out until Monday but that also means payday is only a week away.

Still no Tilly tidies though :(
