Re tax credits - that sounds depressing, glad dd2 is finishing nursery this year then. Her nursery bill and tax credits we get almost cancel each other out so all not lost there I guess.
The forum has got busy, but I guess we're all conscious of money and overpaying is a big part of saving in the long run.0 -
Is it just me being absent or has this forum got really busy lately??? I was halfway down page 4!!
Its getting busy, i can never find my diary anymore, but then as I've been so badly behaved recently its becoming more of a confessional than anything else. So I wouldn't really say I'm much motivation for anyone:p
Bad nights sleep are difficult to handle so I hope DD starts sleeping better soon. As i've had no kids I'm afraid I can't helpMortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999Mortgage @ 31.10.13 £14,6640 -

LOL!
I really don't know where all my time is going! Think i could do with a week at home catching up. £35 Quidco money arrived today so I have sent another OP of £50 making my OP's for January £250 so far. Wonder if any more money will make it my way this month?
Glad to see surveys back on Onepoll, managed a couple of those today. Worked an extra shift this week but after stoppages won't end up with too much but it is extra after all!
What are peoples thoughts on ebay sales at the moment? Is it worth it at this time of year? I have a welsh pine dresser to sell but obviously want to choose a good time to sell.
I need to do some online browsing for clothes as I was given some christmas money and it has all frittered away! Was hoping to get something in the Next sale but couldn't actually find much! I have never been very good at spending money on myself.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I got some vouchers for xmas and I usually put it towards getting presents for other people but might actually treat myself this once.

Hi, just catching up with all my subscribed threads - first time I have been on since Christmas.
Just wanted to say you should get in touch with your Health Visitor who should have tonnes of help advice and support in getting your daughter into a good bedtime routine.
Good luck! with the OP's and LO.0 -

Whenever mine woke when smaller or even now i go up and comfort till they stop crying and then say goodnight and leave the room again. Mine are pretty exhausted though. DS1 will read to settle himself. DS2 is often shattered as he is not napping in the day. Some people swear by starting the whole night time routine again. To be honest, mine pretty much know they get very little reaction from us other than a bit of patting on the back and being covered up again. You might need to tweak one or two things in your routine a little to get her to settle.
It has been an ongoing issue since she arrived! She is coming up 28 months but still has an hour in the day, usually around 11am and she can't manage without it just yet. I think we probably react a little too much which doesn't help!Hi, just catching up with all my subscribed threads - first time I have been on since Christmas.

LOL my HV is not brilliant! She suggested I get a bigger bed as DD comes in with us in the night. I did try the sleep routines they provide though and it did work for a little while but nothing works long term.gratefulforhelp wrote: »Hugs for the DD issue with the sleeping. Are guilty of this!! Now tho we just say it's dark, it's bedtime and last night she settled really well. Having said that, as I write this she is asleep on the sofa having come down for a bottle of milk. Hoping DH can successfully carry her back up to bed soon.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well done! I have found it is really important to minimise one's entertainment value at night, which is why I am good at settling them (v.boring!) and DH is rubbish (much more interesting!).
You will have to work on being a boring mummy at night! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
we did the whole night-time outine plus mummy does boring things at night like sleep or work. 7pm bed time for them bothMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
