Ooooh, exciting, I like hearing about holidaysEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Thinking of Portugal. Had looked at holiday villages which may be out of our league. Had a quick look earlier and found a 7 night all inclusive for £1300. We spend almost £1000 for a week in this country. Would love to take the children on an aeroplane! I didn't fly until I was 17 and paid for myself!
Next year has to be the start of making memories abroad.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

A colleague of mine was in Portugal recently - she really sold it to me so now I'd really like to go too. Your price does seem very good, CathT.
We are working on our budget this weekend too. OH just got on board with the idea of overpaying just this week!NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸0 -
We have surprisingly had a sunny few days, feels like summer in the sun and winter in the shade!
Bit the bullet today and booked a holiday. We are off to mainland Spain next Spring :j I think we got a good all inclusive deals although free child places weren't easy to come by, they sell out fast but we got one which made a huge difference to cost.
Food shop done and spent £30. Total food spends for April so far are £158!!!! Not sure how we have managed another month of really low food spends but I'm not complaining.
Cc bills paid today and had planned to pay quite a bit off cp balance but will have to tweak that now as had to pay £250 deposit for holiday. Does feel good to be able to use the current account though instead of relying on a credit card.
Have a good Saturday evening. I could do with a glass of something stronger than traditional lemonade after a difficult day with Ds. He gets so angry sometimes! Here's to a better day tomorrow!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
That's incredible. I've almost give up hope of ever getting below £500. Although I have 3 teenager's, 2 cats and that's all our toiletries and food including pack ups and wine...Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

I've taken toiletries/cleaning products etc out of total so it is literally just food. We don't eat a lot of meat and seem to be able to make food stretch. Children take a packed lunch 3-4 days a week and I always take my lunch to work. Am sure it won't last forever but am going to enjoy the savings while I can!
Holiday was just under £1500 but its 4* and looks brilliant. We typically spend almost £1000 in this country and worked out even a cheap weekend away in a caravan would cost £250 plus food/travel/entertainment.
Have tried to pay some money of cp balance but can't access account until June. Can't be bothered to ring up so paid the money off a credit card instead. The end result will be the same.
We have left ourselves a fairly slim budget until next payday but all food/petrol is budgeted for and everything paid that needs to be. Architect fund is back up to £870 with no timescale of when it will need to be used - if at all!
Am planning a relaxing Sunday, literally didn't stop yesterday!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
