Best of luck with the viewing.... it only takes one buyer!
And on the flip side, I'm pretty sure that you would add some value if you did decide to extend. Also, once you work out the selling/buying costs and offset these against the potential extension costs, it might not seem so bad.
Everything will work out for the best0 -
Thanks lula, hopefully our plan b will work for us too. Things have a funny way of working out. Hoping for feedback soon but will likely be Monday rather than today which I would prefer. EA is open after all!
Have ordered a £25 meat delivery which has just arrived and will feed us for ages! DH plans to do some batch cooking whilst watching the football later and we will do a food shop based on a meal plan. Planning a low spend week this week and these mini challenges definitely work for us.
Have a bit of a to do list ready for when I am a bit more awake! Also plan to watch some Christmas films, we had a bit of snow last night so am starting to feel a bit more festive

Cath your operation is so slick I am in awe!0

Thaks SHS, not feeling slick today! Bit down that weekends go by so fast. Working full time is rubbish sometimes. I feel like I need a break but have just had a week off, am not worn out by my job, it's everything else and the general pace of life!
Dd had an extra swimming lesson today which meant we were there for much of the morning as there was a gap between her lessons. DH came to get DS which meant a 40 mile round trip but I would have otherwise spent a fortune on snacks for DS from the vending machine I normally refuse to buy from!
DH has used up the Mr S points and Christmas shopping not going too badly. Dd junior ISA is up and running but just short of the £500 amount needed to actually buy any funds! Might have to leave it as it is until after Christmas when I can top it up and invest.
DH has done a couple of hours overtime and made a soup I hope will feed us for lunch for a few days. Hoping to stick to a £20 food spend for the rest of the month. I have also suggested to DH we go alcohol free for 28 days, he asked what the point was but I'm hoping we will have more energy. We have 2 bottles of wine between us a week so aren't big drinkers. I learned this week that giving blood, coming home and having a coffee and a bottle of wine makes you feel quite terrible the next day!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
So, payday came and went but there is more leftover than last month. Got a little more than expected, was due a payrise but obviously budgeted to lose more in tax, NI, pension and student load deductions. Will be clearer when I get my payslip. This means there is a little extra to save/spend/overpay!I definitely don't want it getting swallowed up and not put to good use.
Along with some other MFW I am going back to cash for groceries. This works well for us during our mini challenges but I think we need to do it full time. I have ended up with £2k on the card we used for stoozing which is incredibly frustrating  this has gradually increased over the year worsened by having to pay out for ridiculous nursery fees. This needs to be gone and reducing food spends should help.
44p Tilly tidy yesterday, good to be in the position to do these again :j
No house news despite me finding a fabulous house on rightm0ve at the weekend! Non-communicative viewers does not fit in with my impulsiveness!
Still waiting on TCB and a pre-paid cc to arrive from 8T. Will be on the phone to them again if it doesn't arrive by the weekend. It seems I get fobbed off for 30 days at a time! Will be changing provider at earliest opportunity!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Where are my evenings disappearing to?? Seem to be getting home later and later at the moment due to traffic. Took me an hour to do 14 miles this morning.
£28 spent on petrol and DH will top up tomorrow. Got home to see homework done, Christmas craft for school finished off and DH had batch cooked lasagne and meatballs. He won't need to cook again until the weekend!
Finally got around to choosing school photos which is £17 well spent. Was lovely to have one of them together this year. Not sure I will give them as presents as it got a bit stressful last year trying to find frames! I've decided I'd quite like to have my colours read and want to treat my mum as her present so I need to get booking that. Photos would be far cheaper!
If I remember tomorrow I need to....
1) sort car insurance ( haven't even opened renewal quote which arrived a week ago!)
2) ring FD to increase SO by £30 since nothing appears to be happening with the house.
3) buy advent calendars
4) do shred if my legs stop aching after yesterday's efforts!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I stopped buying frames but still give photos of my brood as part presents. I figured frames looked like I thought they *should* be displayed and also meant I had to guess their choice of frame. PLus I found that some (eg: my nan) just updated last year's pic with this year's and so didn't need a new frame (I just have to make sure she gets the same sized pics each year!!)

Great thinking GreenT, thank you. Have done none of 'to-do' list! However, I did open the envelope! Hunting for quotes and cashback can wait until the weekend.
Having another week of trying to make it to the weekend. DH has been a superstar and sorted out DS nativity costume, he looks great!
I must get around to buying advent calendars this week before they run out.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Feeling good
Almost a week has passed with very little spending! This weekend should be very low spend and then the weekends will gradually get more expensive as we plan some Christmas activities.
The children have a birthday party this weekend and I had a fleeting thought of having a few hours with DH before realising whilst dd is old enough to be left, DS isn't. It was a nice thought but out of Christmas shopping, going for lunch or cleaning I think we would have spent it doing the latter!
£16 left out of this weeks £20 food budget! :jJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
£5 spent on top up shop, £11 left out of budget. That would buy 3 bottles of wine but up to now I am not drinking this week! I must resist any texts sent by DH tomorrow. I think buying wine out of personal spends rather than the food budget is key.
Managed to get advent calendars so no need to panic! :j
Pre-paid card not arrived from BT. Meant to be here by 28th at the latest. Do I really think it will turn up over the next couple of days? :mad:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
