Anyone else's children wild and/or difficult to please at the moment? The weather isn't helping as mine don't do well being inside! Was hoping to do something at local NT property today but weather had been as wild as the children! For sale sign been blown about too, maybe that's a sign!!
I know the feeling - we too will be cooped up inside all weekend AGAINI'm just sick of the weather lately. We usually do National Trust properties on the weekends too for some fresh air but it's so wet and rainy all the time. Don't really fancy going into town or to shopping centres either as it will be just too busy.

Well another weekend has gone. If I'm totally honest I am not feeling brilliant lately. I deactivated fb yesterday, don't know if it will help but I am not feeling very mindful. Was quite tearful and debated not coming on here either but here I am.
Payday in 11 days, current accounts low but manageable and we haven't used the cc at all this month! :j
Thinking of reducing the house this week although it's possibly a pointless time of year to do so?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Although I don't always write I always read you're diary so don't go
I'm debating deactivating Facebook but I use it to share photos of miniOCC with family quite often and that's the only reason I keep it. It's inane drivel on thee the rest of the time with the odd inspirational message so twit puts on there.
Perhaps a few moments to yourself for relaxation and to gather your thoughts wouldn't go amiss. Little chance of that I suppose.0 -
Oh Cath, don't go - sending virtual hugs in your direction
I removed Facebook from my iPhone ages ago, really dislike it. That said, I do share family photos on instagram, but I have it set up so that I can control who follows me - and I only let selected people follow! It's a nice way of sharing pictures without the whole Facebook thing which I'm not keen on.
I think things are very quiet at this time of year in regards to house sales, so try not to beat yourself up about it. Try and forget about it all until the new year and enjoy a lovely festive month with the family.0 -
Hope you are feeling better today cath, don't delete us all all though, we need you !
Have a sparkly xmas tree to cheer yourself up :xmastree:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Thank you for the kind messages. Managed to offload to some colleagues too who were very understanding and helped me put things in perspective.
I have been spending so much time planning and considering things based on 'what ifs'. This inability to make firm plans has been quite stressful. However, I find it hard to make plans based on the current situation knowing somehow it has to change.
Payday for DH is the end of next week, we have been spending very little lately but there is only £11 in the current account. This would be ok but I have written a cheque for £82 to cover a half term of swimming! To keep the balance, food spends are low and we have been having quite a few meat free meals. I feel I have managed to chip away at DH in terms of our diet and we are having healthier options.
Have checked elec+gas account after submitting readings and despite our usage being ok and account being in credit, our direct debit will increase next month, we currently pay £71 and will have to go up to £89. I know this isn't an outrageous amount but still, it is disappointing for it to increase.
Anyone else not feeling particularly Christmassy? Watched part of 'the polar express' with DS when I got home from work, our tree is up and we have an elf but am just not feeling it. Colleagues feel the same, maybe it's the weather?
DH has done a small food shop, spends for this month not looking too bad so far. Just need to resist doing the big Christmas shop. I remember my mum getting 2 trolley fulls,, that's an awful lot of food for a day! We don't plan on spending for the sake of it but I do think a bottle of baileys would help with the Christmas spirit!

I know how frustrating it is not selling but dropping the price now...one of our local estate agent reckons people start looking on boxing day so maybe then?0

I totally understand how you feel...... at the beginning of the year when we had our house on the market for a few months, I felt really fed up - it was the feeling of not knowing whether we would move or not and then all of the "in the air" financial stuff as a result of it - impossible to make any plans etc which is quite frustrating if this is something that you're focused on.
When the decision was made to extend instead, I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders in so many ways - not just that we'd avoided even bigger financial commitment, but that it felt like we'd taken control and our plans were now in our hands.
So, I really don't envy you..... hopefully a buyer will come along soon and you can start to lay down plans and know what lies ahead.0
