This is exactly how I feel! All plans are a 'what if'June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

This is interesting, we have just has some email feedback so will have a think after reading that and give them a ring at the weekend to see what their thoughts are.lulabelle1 wrote: »And, apparently 1litre of Baileys is £12 in Waitro3e!
No waitr0se near me Lula, might have to source some from somewhere soon - we have presents to wrap! Am sure DH will try and help but slow me down offering pieces of Sellotape!
NSD from me. I will need fuel tomorrow and we desperately need to meal plan! Busy couple of days in work coming up so will be Friday evening before I know it!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Take care and best wishes, ATB xxMFW

Hi CathT, I'm new and still catching up on all the diaries but just wanted to offer some solidarity. I've been feeling like my whole life is a massive "what if" for the last year. What if rates rise, if I lose my job, if I get sick, if something expensive breaks, etc, etc. It can get you down but that's where places like this seem to help. Like minded people, struggling away, sharing and offering support.
Anyway, no advice, just empathy! I'm not feeling hugely Christmassy either.
I've subscribed to your thread so hope to hear more about how it's going0 -
Hi ATB and Jean, thanks for popping in. So far this evening I have done sums based on stretching our budget and reducing this place to buy a house using 'help to buy' and also looked at potential extension plans! Either way I have set a rough budget and some financial plans for Jan to March. I am truly shocked how much of our hard earned wage goes on cc repayments! These 0% cards stopped us moving a few years ago as we used them to fund renovations.
Had some feedback from last viewer - 3rd bedroom too small. It didn't come as a great shock, that's why it's on the market!,June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I just struggled keeping everything viewably clean with kids. Its exhausting.
Not sure if helps but I kept a real close eye on the market when we sold, doing a substantial drop that payed off as sold, I sometimes wonder what if we have stayed at the higher figure but selling was so stressful and was worth the selling at the lower figure.
I also sometimes thing EA set you up to fail. Your house is worth X... hooks you in... but its not real money, its only real if someone is prepared to pay it.
Im sure it will work itself out xxMorgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

I totally agree. EA local to me tried to convince me that my house was worth £180K when no other houses have sold on the street since 2012 and the last sale price of a similar property was £112K. When I asked him what he was basing this estimate on he basically said his "gut". Since then a similar property was put up for sale at £160K and has been there for almost a year so the guy was clearly wrong.0 -
Thanks both. After a right move search last night I have decided to reduce our property (just need to time this right), advertise it as no chain and go into rented. Our extension plans are possible but complex due to the worry of really upsetting the neighbours. Also, we may end up spending a fortune to get this house as we would like it.
Account checked and have had to shuffle more from food account as the cheque for swimming has sent us overdrawn! So far this month I have 'borrowed' £175 from food account so am impressed we have kept spends low enough to be able to shuffle this amount!
8 days to payday. I have set a budget which includes lots of repayments but am wondering whether some high interest regular savers would be better as our current repayments are 0%. Not sure why I currently feel able to plan, maybe I have accepted I can't control the house situation so just need to carry on.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning
My grans bungalow has not sold yet, agents advised to take it off for december and put back on boxing day (i guess it shows up as just listed ) mum and aunt can't see the point so have not done this. But they said it goes crazy in the period after xmas and over new year.
Are you sure about listing as no chain? Tell me to mind my own business but its a lot of extra stress for you, and although a perk for the buyer will it make that much difference unless its a btl?
Glad to see you are still with us by the wayMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0
