Thanks GreenT, I can see why!

Small top up shop yesterday (£2.44 which was bread, cereal bars and a reduced sandwich for work today) finally started my Christmas shopping getting the children a tablet. This meant I had to top up my existing voucher with £85 cash  but was worried about them going out of stock! Will use t3sco vouchers to get their board games etc.

10 days until payday,I will feel better once in single figures :)

No feedback from EA which is disappointing, maybe today. Hopefully they are considering their offer! :rotfl:

TCB account had its daily stalk, cashback was due a couple of weeks ago so I might up the ante and check more frequently.:D

No Tilly tidies to make, account is overdrawn!

Online food shop done, had a £5 voucher so spent £36.14. cc is linked so used that and then paid off £37! Will hardly make a dent but at least it's something. Logged in to check s&s ISA which continues to grow slowly which is more reassuring than its recent performance!

I had a dinner of left overs (same yesterday) so that should keep food spends low.

Went to parents evening (first time for both children) and was so pleased with what I heard. I was aware dd was doing extra work as always worked a level ahead but realised this evening she is on a 'more able and talented' programme and doing very well. Also lovely to hear she is a delight in class and her contributions valued. DS also described as being very able as well as caring and polite. It's lovely to know I must be getting something right!

Wish there was more money activity or at least financial planning going on but it's literally a countdown to payday. Waiting on t3sco vouchers, pre-paid cc and tcb payment. Am feeling very impatient!!

No house news, guess the EA would let me know if someone was desperate to put an offer in!

Congrats on hearing such good feedback about your children at parents evening, that's fantastic and the sort of thing that every parent wants to hear! (Perhaps they could spend some time with my children, lol)
  • Yes, well done. I know you have despaired about their squabbling at home but they clearly know how to behave well when they need to! Lovely news.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

    Thanks Lula and SSS.

DS proudly told me today about remembering the soldiers.

NSD although food shop arrived. It really is so much easier online! I didn't get chance for lunch today which was very MSE!

T3sco vouchers have arrived so I will go and get some more presents in the next few days. DS has misplaced his list though! Have £90 to double up so it should stretch quite far. Have a secret Santa gift to get too so hopefully something will catch my eye.

Rang EA and viewers tend to respond better at the weekends. The agents have shown them another property too so all is not lost. We can stay and extend but we won't recoup the expense and I really feel ready for us to take that next step and move up the property ladder. Think I might make a financial plan for plan A and B as its frustrating not having clear goals.

TCB checked 3 times today :rotfl: still not payable

Feel like I have haemorrhaged money today! Had an eye test which I thought I was having due to a non-vision related eye problem which is exempt from charges. Turns out I had a routine eye test that I was charged £26 for. Visions excellent though and optician thinks I won't need glasses for a good while :)

Have also needed to pay £77 cash towards childcare costs to ensure clarity as it's getting confusing!

Account going to be rather depleted by the time payday arrives.

Bit of a strange day today. Feeling fed up about the house. No feedback from our viewers last week who seemed very keen, however a house around the corner has gone off the market so there is now even less competition. Had a conversation with DH earlier about what we do if we don't sell (I.e extend) but we will be spending money and not adding value which concerns me.

To cheer myself up I tried to increase our standing order OP by £30 but for some reason I can't do it online and it was too much effort to ring FD. We have decided to do a financial plan based on us staying here at the moment.

Have had a productive morning and used some t3sco vouchers for the double up. The system isn't wonderful though in the denominations of the vouchers so I ended up needing to add some cash. That said, spent around £17 and have done very well. The chldren have a decent stack each and they are fortunately of the age where stocking fillers will be cheap. Still have some vouchers left so since DH has had a new Xbox game I will have some boots (neither of us will wait until christmas!) tried to order online and got too stressed so will go into store tomorrow as I couldn't face going back today after my pre 9am visit today!

Almost feel like today has been wasted as we have stayed home and not done a lot! I guess we need days like this from time to time.

Payday is almost here! That is bound to cheer me up :)

    Food - £99.55
    Petrol - £98.15

Urgh, the typical Monday morning struggle! I feel ready for a week off except I have just had one!

Never mind,by this time next week we will have both been paid which is something to be celebrated this month:rotfl:

TCB checked and cashback still not payable  I feel like I have waited forever for it! Not brave enough to check the current account this morning

Spent last of t3sco double up vouchers yesterday, finally bought myself some boots, got us some socks as they disappear in this house and got DH some lounge trousers for Christmas.
We just have the mr s points to double up who's which should be around £60 so will use that to get dd nativity costume (she is an inn keeper amd I lack any sort of talent to provide a homemade outfit)

Food spends well under control and we have a cooked chicken that should feed us most of this week. I am away for two days this week which will incur some spends but is a work trip I have really looked forward to. A full nights sleep in a hotel is also rather appealing!

Hope everyone has a good week ahead, keep safe and cherish those things we are grateful for each day.

    Hello!

Just a quick one - but if you do an extension, are you sure that it will not add any value at all?

I havent checked but I'm sure that our extension will have added some value.... I doubt to the extent of what we spent (i.e disregard what we spent on the kitchen and accessories etc) - but I'm sure the building costs themselves would have added a similar value on to the house...

Have you checked in to it?

Hi Lulabelle, have just seen this. I've based it on what 4 beds go for around here. However, we would have more downstairs space and an en-suite which the age of properties around us don't have. That said, we have another viewing coming up so watch this space :)

Food and petrol spends updated, TCB very quiet. It gets quite annoying when the become payable date was weeks ago!

I have been a day ahead of myself all week so it has been a very long week! Am looking forward to a family weekend amd trying to get in the festive spirit! Dd wants to watch 'nativity' so looks like she has same plans.

Tomorrow will see the money shuffle and the hope I can get the wages to ssssstttrreeeeeeeeetccccchhhhh!
