It's the weekend!!!
Trying to be productive and maximise the hours in the day.
After reading lulabelle's thread I have opened a Junior ISA for dd and completed paperwork for her CTF to be transferred. Hopefully be easier with finances in one place and I can pay into it on a monthy basis. DS is a little behind her in the investment world especially as the CTF were stopped before he was born.
Have a hefty 'to do' list so once DH awakens from his well deserved lay in we will get started!
WIOTW figures updated since it is the end of the month. Mortgage reduced by almost £500 this month, have to go on spreadsheet to see when it will hit £500+!
Next month should see us sub 90k for mortgage, looking forward to ploughing through the 80's!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Thank you. Have so much to do so finishing my coffee and getting off here! Swimming lessons done and both children continuing to improve. Looking forward to being in the water for the next 5 days! I have so much to do, DH is currently at work doing OT so his November wage should be a good one! I've also been to Mr S and got some good buys for the children in the 25% clothing offer. I looked for a while at boots for myself but didn't buy them. I find it so hard as a mum to buy myself clothes!
Junior ISA paperwork posted off yesterday so that can be processed whilst we are away.
Still to do.
Pack
Clean house
Check accounts
Hoover car and check tyres
Catch up with all washing
I best get a move on!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Oh, also looked at my spreadsheet and it's a long way off until mortgage regularly reduces by £500 so when we get back from hols I am going to increase SO Overpayment by £30 so we are achieving it every month from now on.
I sense a whole new budget and plan coming up at the end of the weekJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
All jobs completed. Let the fun commence!
Think I lost track a little of spends towards the end of October but came in around £440 for food and petrol.
November spends
Food. - £37.91
Petrol - £32.00
Have been reading OCC's thread so have a bit of a financial 'to do' list next weekend. This includes tips from other diaries too so have a bit to be getting on with!
I have also worked out (since so far I have bought nothing for Christmas) what we have in vouchers/rewards etc so plan to spend as little cash as possible. A quick total tells me we have £290. This should be enough, we don't buy for lots of family members and don't go mad on the children! Time will tell!
I imagine we will have a wi-fi free week which I am going to embrace!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Well done for opening the JISA.... you should find that the whole transfer goes through very quickly and easily....0

Thanks Lulabelle, it's showing up on CS account and they have messaged me about transfer. Was so easy to do!
Well we are back from hols and although I'm not sure exactly how much we spent it was less than £200 so am okay with that. Important thing was we had the most amazing time! We hired bikes and had some great times using them so worth every penny. We already want to book to go again!
CC and current account looking rather depleted, think we will be spending the rest of the year just balancing finances rather than making any huge OP's. Options seem limited with only 2 paydays left. To try and recoup some money we are going to try and stick to a strict grocery budget of £200 for the rest of the month. DH has been for a top-up shop today so we should be okay for a few days! Soup has been made and we have decent supplies.
