Why? That's what they're paid for. do you have an approachable GP?Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

To be fair, my GP is wonderful. I have had to visit him a few times this year and have received excellent care. Even had an MRI scan I requested! I am not a hypochondriac honestly. I work in the health profession (am a nurse) so could speak to a doctor at work I suppose. That's how I know my sugars are low because I can test. It has been going on a while and i thought it was my migraine trigger but am thinking perhaps it's not actually migraine but a drop in blood sugar. Never heard of it before until my friend said 'ahhhhh, reactive hypoglycaemia'June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Well that's good - didn't realise you're a nurse. Don't live with it if it can be fixed, then, or are you worried you'll end up on medication that you don't want? Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

I only googled it very briefly but I think it's caused by eating carbohydrates and then having a bigger surge in insulin than needed causing a drop in sugar. I used to jest that my pancreas was over efficient, it seems i could be right!
I remember it being low at my 28 weeks bloods when pregnant - only 3.9 and the midwife shouted at me accusing me of eating no breakfast. I had eaten and had an apple while waiting for my blood test. I think it is a lifestyle change rather than medication but need to read more to confirm that.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Nope...i think I just had it!!
Will ring GP on Monday to see if they can do anything. Also will try and find some reputable sites to do some more research. Perhaps also bend my friend's ear, she is a dietician so must know what the best thing to do is. Didn't know about the hyperthyroidism link though Lilac so thank you xJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hi cath, have been catching up with your diary and sorry to hear about Dh's hours, if you are concerned about extending the mortgage its probably best not to, better safe than sorry. Use all that saved energy and money to make the house you have exactly how you want it!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Thanks Newgirly, am really happy we are staying and my kitchen plans are being formed rather nicely in my head!
Trying to get some outstanding jobs sorted this morning. Can't sort DH car insurance due 13th till 8th dec so I can pay for it on Fab CC bill instead of January! Just been sorting out some paperwork for that.
Couple of annoying setbacks this morning! I got a sim only deal through QUIDCO for the cashback thinking DH had an 18 month phone contract but it is 24 months so he is sorting that now.
Can't find a really good deal on Lovefilm, out free trial is coming to an end but I did see something about nectar rentals so may investigate that instead. We are going to cancel movies and sports with SKY after christmas which will save us loads! How do people get Lovefilm for £3.99 because I can't find that deal!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I don't think so GFH. Had an episode today, felt unwell after an hour after eating and checked it and it was low and then it dropped again! Think I will ring GP tomorrow.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
