Good luck Cath today. I went for a run in the heavy rain on Friday night and it was nice but I was soon cold at the end of it.0

Thank you, I really enjoyed it and barely noticed the rain after a while. Was pretty chilly when we stopped though. Furthest I've ever run and loved being part of a group of more experience runners. We ran a really good pace and I felt comfortable. Couldn't really chat much during the inclines though!
Need to update food and petrol spends as DH filled the tank. I do hope we have no more spends for the rest of the month.
Food - £289.54
Petrol - £215.35
Turned out to be a low spend weekend and I havent needed to get cash out of the bank like i thought we might. Will check banking tomorrow to see what's left and do a Tilly tidy
June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning. It has finally stopped raining! :j
Quick check of accounts and I have made a Tilly tidy of £1.10 which is the 2 transactions rounded up. We have £60 to last until 11th August which could be interesting. All food/petrol covered so this is day to say spending which we tend to keep fairly low. eBay item ends soon though so I may need to do some shuffling!
I am hoping to catch up a bit next month with extra cc payments as we have not reduced the end date on those this month. Each month we tend to knock 2 months off but this month has remained unchanged. I guess it's just a case of counting down to next payday as this month has been a struggle. Still catching up after horrific nursery bill and DH wage being a week less as he has moved onto monthly pay.
I guess you can't achieve great things every month and this is definitely one of those months!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning, as the end of the month is almost here I have just checked some spends for June and July.
June
Food. - £294.55
Petrol - £253.93. Total £548.48
July
Food. - £289.54
Petrol - £215.35. Total £504.89
Total spends are £43 lower this month but I really didn't think we would have spent so much on food again. We make a chicken last 4 days, bake cakes if we want them, barely eat anything processed. We do however eat lots of fruit, yoghurts, bread. Not really sure how I can get this any lower but need to find a way. I can't leave the fruit bowl empty so that leads to a few top up shops. I can understand why some parents may opt for a cheap packet of biscuits when faced with hungry children!
Did some money shuffling as waiting for cb to credit. Managed to make last cc payment of the month and our WIOTW figure is looking good. :j
Am going to organise getting some local authority leisure centre passes this weekend so that after the initial cost we can take the children swimming for free. Have been meaning to do it for ages but time keeps running away with me!
I am so ready for the weekend, work is stressful and I am pretty exhausted. I do have some time off soon to look forward to and am ready for the break. I've possibly sold some items locally, just need to finalise collection details. Why do people message and then disappear? Also need to arrange to have the piano delivered and chase up piano removal company.
It's all go here at the moment!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

That says "woohoo you got the piano" in black and white.0 -
Don't think it will stay in tune for long with my two banging away on it!
Friday is sooooo close now!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hooray it's Friday :j :j :j
I love my job but I am ready for a break!
I have a bit of a to do list I may keep adding to.
1) download and complete forms for leisure centre
2) make list of school uniform and buy
3) see if can extend cp stay
Sold some old toys yesterday for £18 so that is going in the cp pot for possible activity spends. We may just miss out on the start of the Christmas events and I'm a bit disappointed. I need to look at the site to weekend to see exactly what we can do on our last day there. I am really tempted to book another weekend there in December!
Over the next few weeks I want to steadily declutter. I think a lot of it may end up in the charity shop as they don't waste your time unlike some fb buyers! Piano being delivered next week so need to work out exactly where we want it. I have investigated piano lessons. £50 a month for a weekly 30 minute lesson! I am finding it expensive to give my children all the opportunities I didn't get! :rotfl:
This weekend I want to finalise WIOTW figures, make a plan for August (our first month without childcare costs!) look into balance transfer offer (that soon comes round!)
There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of the year left so would like a plan for the next few months. Checked the bank and there seems to be a good amount left for the next 3 weeks. Might OP a bit of it as day to day we don't need an awful lot and despite being off with the chldren they don't cost a lot to entertain.
Happy Friday all! :jJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Does their primary offer lessons?
Could they learn the basics with a college music student?
Not sure what there is your way.

Sold a unit for £5. Spring cleaned dd room and moved a unit into her room from the playroom. Plan to deep clean every room while I am off.
Bank account not looking as rosy as I thought! Forgot about piano delivery!Alchemilla wrote: »Does their primary offer lessons?

Don't think primary do, maybe once she moves up to juniors? Will enquire about alternative tuition.
Busy day, meat delivery arrived. We are going to eat soooo well. It was excellent value and quality. I spontaneously decided to go for a run today's opposed to tomorrow as guided by training plan. I ran for 2hr 6mins and did just over 12.5 miles. Was shocked I ran for so long, really enjoyed it too!
Watched a film as a family after dinner, good old classic 'Beethoven' the children now want a dog! We have the rest of it to watch tomorrow. It's been nice not rushing around doing all the weekend jobs with the knowledge I can do it in the week instead. Don't get enough time just to sit and enjoy each other's company.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Aw I loved that film :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
