Morning all, no bank holiday lie in here!
Quickly checked accounts, no pennies to Tilly tidy as nothing has gone out but I have £80 to pay off cc this week. If I can top up with DH wage on Friday I can clear a balance and do a transfer. This time will be a 20 month offer so should see us almost finished by then. According to my snowball calculator I knocked 2 months off this month :j
Now that I know we are not moving I feel reassured by our previous financial investment into the house.
Today's plans include.....
1) sort out utility room. We have a small shoe cupboard I want to replace with storage boxes..... Can then sell the cupboard!
2) slow cook some gammon - not done this before and am doing it with cola
3) do some decluttering upstairs
4) clean bathrooms
5) Hoover and mop all floors
DH doesn't have to work bank holidays but has popped to work for a few hours. He will get double time and save a days holiday so it makes sense. Hopefully a family afternoon of fun can then be on the cards. The children have played up at bedtime the last 2 evenings and both days haven't spent time outside so I am getting them in the garden today!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

All done apart from mopping kitchen-diner, the children played with play-doh so didn't see the point!Sold the cupboard for £15 which I have given to DH. This means I can transfer £15 less on Friday so will have the extra in the bank to pay off remaining cc balance.
Also managed another 10k run today, that's 2 in 3 days! Might rest until the weekend and try a longer run. I have been looking into local half marathons
Gammon was delicious and there was loads of meat. I have taken a pasta sauce we made and froze out to defrost, there is leftover pasta in the fridge so I will have that tomorrow with some more of the gammon.
I have about £9 in my purse which is plenty for the rest of the week. If the @ldi voucher is in this weeks paper I will buy a couple of those.
Going to watch a film with DH now, for some reason I suggested we watch all the Marvel films as I have only seen a couple. Might score me 'good wife' points! :rotfl:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I tried Al, I tried! No such luck. Really not sure what has got into them both. They settled better this evening but DS has developed a bit of an attitude complete with arms crossed! I dread to think how active they would be if we fed them rubbish. They even only have water or milk to drink, I never give them juice at home and they snack on fruit.HelenDaveKids wrote: »I managed a 9am lie in, did wake much earlier but was determined.

Ah that's a good lie in Helen, you must have needed it. Thank you, am working very much part time this week so be nice to be at home more (said with caution due to reply to Al). Might get a rest in work! Hope you are feeling okay.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Five o clock bickering left me wondering if I really needed to be alcohol free at the moment...0

What a day. Am totally drained amd very grateful I am off tomorrow. Just checked online banking and payments I made over the weekend have still not cleared which is a little annoying. Making me a little concerned where the money has gone!
Just been out in the garden to pick some rocket ready for lunches tomorrow. Plan on soaking it in cold water to bring out the grubs as last year I found several on my Tupperware lid when my salad was almost finished. Not much makes me queasy but that certainly did!
DH appears to have done a fabulous job wearing the chldren out today so fingers crossed for a relaxing evening.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

We do this but with cider and a few (about 5) cloves. A bottle of magners or some similar cheap aldi/lids equivalent does the job fine

Thanks choccie lover, will try with cider next time.
Money to cc has finally cleared and 85p cashback has hit account so have Tilly tidied that.
I need to find another £160 to clear the card, possibly by Friday which is a deadline created by me. I have £80 in current account ready to go and the extra can come from DH wage. It's times like this I have based our income on pre-payrise figures so there is always a surplus.
I fell asleep not long after my post last evening, felt really cold so got on sofa with a blanket, I fell asleep and DH put both children to bed. I only woke as the phone rang. Have been battling toothache since then. At one point last night I would rather have been in labour! However, it is easing this morning so hopefully it won't be a wasted day off.
I'm itching to clear tht cc before Friday so might have a look where I can shuffle money from! The addiction is strongJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Hope your fangs feel better todayxxx0
