Trying to convince DH he doesn't need to upgrade his 2005 car as he only uses it for short work commute and school run. He seems on board! Now I have more credit card/mortgage money to play with! :jApr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0

Just saw your post Newgirly, a peu 207 sport. It's only done 15k and is a 2010 plate. Have paid less than 5k for it so in my opinion a bargain!Apr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0

Payday for DH, extra £36 sent to cc of money I wasn't expecting target for the month may be achievable. Also used £20 of TCB/sales money to pay off cc and keeping £50 to one side as we plan to renew our zoo membership next month. Children not so keen on visiting our local NT properties so think we are due a change.
Need to meal plan this morning to keep food spends low again this week. Petrol should come in under budget to as I am running it down prior to sale.
Have an afternoon out planned with the children which we are all really looking forward to. Before that thought, this house needs a clean and major declutter!
Also did a 56p Tilly tidy.
Everything seems to be going so well :jApr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0 -
It's taken me a few weeks but I've read your diary start to finish! It's all very inspiring especially with two children in the mix. Good luck with your February target.

HI CreamTea, wow the whole thing! Hope my constant 'I think we'll move house' wasn't too boring. We decided on staying put and investing in our home.
I had just qualified when I started my diary, seems a lifetime ago!
Thank you for popping in.Apr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0 -
Morning all.
Had a spendy day yesterday but worth every penny. We renewed our zoo membership £200 and did a mammoth over budget food shop
We had a fantastic family day out though and made so many memories. We will use our membership lots and the children will enjoy it. Just need to be organised with drinks and snacks each time we go.
Have balanced stooping cc with what we spent yesterday, our t3sco points total will be huge!
Plan for today?
1) do some coursework for work, hoping it only takes an hour!
2) do shred
3) declutter and clean as didn't do it yesterday
4) drink lots of water. I'm really tired lately and think I need to eat and drink better.
5) get outside with the children later if it dries upApr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0 -
Day before payday and the accounts are looking good. :j
Will try and do the money shuffle tomorrow before work then make more cc repayments later on. Will make the most of council tax free month £124 saving and am sure nursery bill will be quite under budget. I have lost track of payments to see if will hit WIOTW figure but all will be revealed on the 1st! It's incredible to think that if I reach £1000 every month we would be debt and mortgage free within 10 years! I'm early 30's so that would be fab.
Randomly bought a bonus ball yesterday and won so that's an extra £50 which will go towards zoo membership. :j
This day is starting out rather positively!Apr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0 -
Had £28.77 left in the bank so did a 77p Tilly tidy and sent £28 to cc. Have £7 cash but don't need anything so shouldn't need to spend it.
Not looking forward to a full working week as have enjoyed the extra time at home so much. Next weekend feels too far away. It's moments like this I really want o book a holiday so we get a few days of quality family time.
Have been watching Breaking Bad this evening, it's soooo good!Apr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0 -
So, payday came and it went! Lots of repayments made though and one card almost cleared :j I am now so glad we didn't move when we almost did as our mortgage would be around 160k and as it stands we are steaming through the renovation expense!
If we were to move next year for schools for example we have benefitted from the improvements to our home.
Various Tilly tidies of 20p, 25p and 75p over the last few days and they definitely add up. Such an easy way to see that balance come down.
Budgeted £600 for childcare but should be about £400 which means stoozing card be £200 less.
I now seem to be wishing the week away for DH payday on Friday which includes a chunk of overtime!Apr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0
