Rough calculations tell me I need to find another £100 to pay off cc to hit target of reducing WIOTW figure by £1000 this month.

It just so happens I have £100 in account ready to pay off cc bill and still have DH payday on Friday! This target seemed ambitious so it just shows if you remain focused and keep chipping away - it is definitely achievable!

Well done cath, we've nearly moved so many times over the years too but like you I'm glad we didn't overstratch ourselves now.:) I think we used to have a similar balance when we started? You have done really well to pay so much off :T

Thanks both, we are modest earners but like everyone else on here try to make our money work as hard for us as we can. :)

Well, nursery bill was just over £200 under budget!

Will need to ring car insurance company to switch insurance over. Hoping as new car is smaller it is cheaper to insure and a refund will be coming my way.

Am planning another small food shop this week. Hoping the @ldi vouchers will be in the paper tomorrow?

    Isn't breaking bad fabulous?
It fascinates me that I ought not to like Walt but I keep on rooting for him.

I'm getting quite addicted to it! Still on season 2 but trying to watch at least an episode a day!

Payday for DH, this included some extra overtime so given DH a bonus so he keeps doing the OT. I'm sure he thinks I have a secret account somewhere! :rotfl:

DH doing the @ldi food shop later. The vouchers are back to being £5 off £40 and are valid for a full week so I got 2 papers. Also got a few things I need to do this weekend

    1) chase up car insurance docs online
    2) sort out car paperwork ready for sale
    3) get a price for DH phone as he has renewed to a cheaper contract
    4) cancel car tax direct debit
    5) read gas and elec meters

After all the admin a fun family weekend is on the cards :j

DH did a fab food shop for £38, not bad when you consider £12 of that was wine!:beer:

Sig updated for March and we hit monthly target of shaving £1000 off our WIOTW figure. I am delighted!

I wonder how we manage it sometimes but we actually spend very little day to day. For example, I had £7 in my purse this week, used £5 for lunch money for dd and bought 2 papers for the @ldi voucher. I don't buy lunch etc so being careful definitely works.

Now that the stoozing card is balanced I can use nursery savings to repay WIOTW figure too so should probably set another ambitious target for March.

Picking up new car tomorrow which we have kindly been given the money for by a super generous relative, sale of our old one plus bartering on the new one leaves us with £800 spare cash. Would love to pay it all off the mortgage but am wondering if we can justify a little holiday too :)

Hi Cath - stopping by to say have a lovely weekend

I'm another Breaking Bad fan here. I watched it all in the space of a month last year as wanted to do it whilst on free month Netflix trial ;)
It was great from start to finish. I'm sure that a lot of TV shows manipulate the way you feel about characters but this was the first time I really noticed that my feelings about Walt moved for and against a number of times throughout. Enjoy!
  • I was the same, I swung between love and understanding to hate and horror about his choices. I was truly saddened when it ended and I had to get back to life. Since then we've watched House of Cards and Sons of Anarchy. Both are amazing and I would thoroughly recommend as your next move.

I think I may be the only person in the world that hasn't seen Breaking Bad!

I've noticed the DVD's sell for a reasonable price on eBay, so I will get round to it one day
