Thanks Newgirly, I really need to have a look at what books I have and get some cheap paper to wrap them!
83p tilly tidied and a small CC cleared. Need to update my figures on my paperwork to see where we are financially.
Almost through our last dreadful month of nursery fees, I am off a lot of December and then early entitlement starts!
A local Christmas market opens this weekend so I'm off to check if they have any offers on as it looks fantastic!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Busy day so far, tennis with dd and it was so lovely to see her have so much fun. An older girl from school was there and dd didn't stop smiling. She seems to get on really well with children 2 or 3 years older than her, she's quite mature so possibly why. Quick supermarket shop and back home with intention of decluttering playroom and finding books for the advent idea.
I popped out early today to Mr T to get 2 things off dd's list so they are currently hidden in the car boot. DH is doing a charity shop run and a bit of housework has been done.
Food spends now £140 so far this month.
Think I will just have one more coffee before I get startedJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Wow weekends are exhausting! We literally do not stop!
Struggling a bit with the advent book idea, had hoped we had enough suitable books at home but can't find enough. Will have to have a hunt online I think.
Have a bonus point voucher for Mr S so one of DD presents can be bought by DH on way home from work tomorrow and safely hidden. Good job we are not buying much as we don't have many hiding places! Took them to my mums last year but now she has drastically downsized!
Meal plan done for the week and DH will get small top up shop to avoid any further unecessary shopping trips later in the week.
£10 unplanned petrol spend. Not sure why DH uses so much but I blame the way he drives!!
Also had an £8 unbudgetted spend today as we popped to a local fayre and it said nothing about admission costs on the website! Spent nothing else while we were there, although I did feel terrible telling dd she couldn't have her face painted, we were out of cash!!
Relaxing evening needed, children had an early night after an exhausting day so it's more coffee for me (could drink it all day long!!), pudding made by DH and a few chapters of my book before catching up on tv.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I was thinking of an advent book theme this year, but didn't want to spend a fortune on books, so dismissed the idea for this year. We have a library already it feels like.0

Same problem here Mrs E, the b88k people have some deals but it would still cost over £20. I really like the idea though and hope the memories would outweigh the cost. A few discount codes would be the deal breaker for me!
This is why I thought that within our many shelves/baskets of books I would have enough to do it!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
63p tilly tidy to 0% card before work this morning, need to sit down and place book order. There is 6% cashback on TCB and I will search my emails for some further discount!
Leftovers from Sunday eaten this evening and I have been taking soup to work that DH kindly made on Sunday. DH did small top up shop yesterday so need to update total when I know how much he spent!
Found £106 in an account today I though I had already transferred so that was a bonus! Payday Friday and will be the first time in an age where I won't have a big overdraft to pay off immediately. :j
Also reduced my £ky package after they decided to take it upon themselves to amend my deal reducing my value for money! :mad:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Food spends now £148.15. We are doing so well this month! Another 86p Tilly tidy made this evening.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Online Mr S shop done as have free delivery for this month. £43.24 gives a running total of £191.39 - can I come in on my £200 budget for the month? Got to be worth a try!
Was pleased to see some TCB had become payable but they are reserving it for the fee. When did that happen?????
Extra £10 petrol needed to see me through the week - I can see me getting a bit obsessed with petrol use!!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Woohoo payday arrived and there's still money left! :j
I just want to go back through the credit cards and see exactly where we are up to. I had found a good tool to use on 'what's the cost' which predicts an end date so be good to see if that has gone down!
Have a few childcare booking/paying jobs to do - scarily these can be booked/paid until the end of the year which shows how quickly the weeks are flying by.
Have an electrician coming to do a job this week. When we had our kitchen re-ftted our f/f got moved to the utility but it's not practical so will have a new home in the corner of kitchen-diner. Have put the job off as there is currently no power socket! Wish we had decided to do this when it was fitted. Anyway, £70 needs putting to one side for that.
Hope everyone is well? I will try and have a bit of a catch upJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I have the same situation with TCB, a small amount of money payable but being held for the fee. I think that happened this time last year. Can't complain though, really, I got about £250 back this year.0
