Right, day off has finally arrived and the house looks like it needs my full attention!

School run done and smallest at home with me. Need to pop out this morning to sort things for new post and visit my mum but otherwise I need to be tidying and cleaning!

Purse cash flow got depleted this morning as dd wanted a school lunch so I have £1.09 left so not going to survive my mini challenge. :(

Continuing to do the small things, not using TD, haven't really needed the heating except for an hour yesterday to dry clothes. Limited DW use and kept food spends low. Need to meal plan the next few days to make sure nothing gets wasted.

Made a little on TCB doing insurance searches and completed a youg0v survey. Hoping it all adds up and by the end of the week I will be in a position to make Tilly tidies!

Toilet seat has completely broken now so mostly limited to using downstairs loo. I've always fixed/replaced things as needed so to leave something broken (also have leaky bathroom radiator) doesn't sit well with me!

Hi cath, I can't remember if I have bored you with my love of my
heated airer before or not, so just incase I haven't - I have a Lakeland three tier one and it dries about 2-3 loads at a time including double bedding /jeans and stuff you can't tumble and it uses less than 5p ph of electric (takes longer to dry mind).

So I no longer have to ever put the heating on just to dry off school uniforms etc. that I left to the last minute. Hope you don't mind me waffling on about it, it's just I am a massive convert!

Sorry you've not hit your challenge target, I'll join you in November if you like :)

Thanks Newgirly, they do sounds brilliant and I remember you getting yours. It's definitely colder here today. Have made a soup out of bendy veg and a small Mr S shop has been done. Spent £17 and we seem to have enough for the week apart from yogurts but I think we can survive without those. Have a chicken ready to be roasted and quite full freezer and cupboards.

Made a couple of ££'s on TCB and finally started my C shopping! I need to get creative as the children don't need any toys and I am not buying stuff for the sake of it. Have a bag ready for the charity shop and the playroom looks much better after DH tidied it. :D

Haha the post was helpful and I am tempted! Thanks newgirly. Santa is getting me a satnav hopefully and probably won't stretch to an aired! I am so spoiled!

Payday today and when I checked this morning the account looked like it would survive and not go back into the overdraft. Need to do money shuffle later for Hally reward and send first installment to bills account.

Money shuffle done and DH wages tomorrow will bring us back in the black. Need to spend very little this weekend to keep it that way though and no more money expected to hit the account until next Friday. DH appears to be on board with this challenge. :D

Had my first flu jab today so hoping for no unpleasant side effects. Last few days in old job now before a bit of a break before starting my new career. Bit of a bonus that I am off much of half term so no childcare stress and little expense! Right now, I am just ready for the weekend! Planning on some lovely family time and relaxation.

Bit of a mixed morning, back in the black! Have a sore throat and no appetite but am at target weight! So so happy!

DH seems pretty pleased with the account, let's hope it stops him frittering away money today as he is off with the children! If he spends his personal spends on baking ingredients needed that should keep him out of trouble!

Thanks Newgirly. I think it's back being in an semi-active job with hardly any breaks which has helped the calorie balance!

Planning a hallowe'en walk after my early finish today, weather looks like it will be good so have popped washing on before work. DH was a star and fixed the toilet seat for £4 as it only needed new fixings. DH working overtime tomorrow too so it looks likes we are finally getting back on track after the most demanding financial year. I think we will end on a high!

Didn't make the Hallowe'en walk, children happier playing at home. Think we might go out for a walk later as we have a beautiful local park and lake in walking distance so will put our wellies on and have a nice walk through the leaves. Hopefully get some nice photographs too.

Also need to rescue the last of the salad leaves, no idea if edible but the raised bed is looking wild and neglected.

I must remember to make an appointment for DH to sort out his pension transfer, due to job changes he has started several small short term pensions but they will all be in one place now apart from his new company pension.

Have done a food shop so should be able to stay away from the supermarket for a few days! Wine was 25% off 6 bottles so stocked up, also had a £4 voucher and I get 10% cashback through current account. It's my new favourite supermarket! :)

Plan for today is swimming lessons, haven't watched DD since she moved up a group so looking forward to seeing her progress as I have listened to some fab tales from her. More de-cluttering and will charity shop if items not selling. This is why Christmas really needs to be kept to a minimum, we don't need all this stuff!
