Not a bad day off. Went for a family walk when DH got in from his overtime shift and I suddenly felt energised so went for a run when we got back. Only 3k in about 20 mins but I literally haven't run for weeks. Went without music and think I ran at a faster pace! Just goes to show that working unsociable hours hampers my ability to exercise. I only worked Saturday morning and have otherwise been off this weekend, am hoping this means I can really get back into exercising again.
Had posted some items on a selling site and bumped up some photos today and they sold! That's £10 which has been paid straight off one of the CC. I needed petrol anyway so will use the cash which evens out the current account. Bonus is that a dining room chair has been decluttering with the sale!
DD was amazing at her swimming lesson too, she has come on so well in such a short time and I think she could get herself out of danger now if she needed to. She has been quite cheeky today too, naive old me thinks age 6 is too young for cheeky behaviour!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I think she gets over-confident at times and she came across as a bit cheeky in her swimming lesson. Always a bit more embarrassing when it's in public!
Today's plan? Firstly, try to stop stressing over the ongoing nursery fee stress. They were meant to reduce significantly after Christmas but circumstances have changed meaning they are not going down by a lot. If someone can help me put it in perspective do let me know! They are not increasing, just not going down as much as hoped!
Am not working until much later today so am going to clean the windows inside, make a banana cake to use up squishy ones. They seem to go off so quiuckly, I had thought it was just a hot weather thing. DS also has appointment for nasal flu spray so will pop along to that, then I will go to work!
No financial news, slipped into overdraft but will be back in black when DH gets paid Friday. He is due another pay rise next month so fingers crossed it is at the beginning of the month.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Have 5 whole days off! I honestly don't know when I last had that length of break. Of course I had annual leave last year but it was all spent doing academic work! Apart from some reading in preparation for new job the time is mine!
So of course a 'to do' list follows!
1) ring tax office as can no longer claim for washing branded uniform
2) cancel hair appointment as got one sooner elsewhere
3)new SOA based on max nursery costs
4) do November figures as the 1st of the month is fast approaching!
5) speak to DH about applying for 0% credit card so we can do some snoozing. Will firstly have to explain what it is.
6) email new manager about some paperwork
7) do at least an hour reading each evening to refresh ready for new job
8) keep finding things to sell. Need to check if have a coat in bigger size for DD or will need to buy a new one.
That will do. Having a friend over later for a long overdue catch up. At least that means my housework is up to date!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Time for an actual financial update!
Have managed to reduce WIOTW figure by £581 this month, not a fortune but it is all going in the right direction.
Had £9.40 go into current account yesterday from cashback debit card so topped that up to £10 and paid off 0% cc. Also DH applied for a card and a balance transfer requested.
Finally bought a satnav today and the one I originally went to get from Mr T which was out of stock was £10 cheaper in Hal5ords and I got £2.48 cashback for reserving online.
Cancelled homecare DD and new SOA done based on maximum nursery costs. I basically work to pay the mortgage, bills and childcare!! Have worked out that after paying absolutely everything we still have over £100 a week so we should survive the year.
Also bought DD some christmas presents, they are second hand books but immaculate. Got her a Roald Dahl boxset which is sold out everywhere, a bumper book of stories of a character she likes and a bundle of other books all for £12. We are going to do an advent book thing where I will wrap 24 books and each evening we will open one and read it.
Have listed some more items to sell and foodshop done for the week but I am eating loads as I am so tired which is not cost effective!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
DH wages in
He has done lots of overtime this week so next weeks pay should be good.
Today I need to pay the rest of DS nursery bill as the voucher only covers a tiny part of it! He is at nursery for a few hours as I have been off most of this week so it will just be DD and me. Have to see what she wants to do just he two of us.
Have been looking for a new coat for DD and no luck so have searched the bay of e and there are some bargains. Another bargain find is a potato delivery man who does 25kg of maris pipers for £6 delivered free! Might get through lots of jackets and wedges this month!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Bit of a run down from last few days.
Paid £7 off CC as my DM paid for some things I picked up when shopping. Have someone picking up some clothes later so will OP another £7 when collected. Balance transfer has gone through but when I have had a look at doing the next planned one the fees are huge! Need to do some sums to work out what to do.
DH has done a skip run, meter readings have been submitted, electrician booked to come and do a small job so we can move fridge freezer. We had our kitchen done 2 years ago and now it feels slightly too small!
Have a voucher for £5 from Mr M from collecting points in their new system and have a £4 off £35 voucher which needs using today, their wine offer ends today aswell so not sure whether to pop out!
Mortgage news????? Coloured in another square on my house picture :j
Clubcard points have arrived too so have £26 to double up. DD mentioned writing Christmas lists but I don't expect to end up buying much.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
