well done on keeping the supermarket spends low. I really need to bring ours lower, they seem to be creeping up a bit again.

Hi Mrs E, a food challenge definitely works for me. Really regains the focus.

Happy 1st December! Our elf has arrived along with our daily Christmas story. Now I really do need to be home from work in time for bedtime!

December hasn't started great! My WD is broken, it usually has a mind of its own but wouldn't empty yesterday so after a quick google and you-tub3 tutorial we sorted it. Put it on to dry and it filled with water and won't drain again! It's just over 12 months old which is typical.

We also seem to have a condensation issue. Our house is 70's and we have mostly replaced the double glazing in last 2 years so don't know why it's so bad. Any solutions? Is central heating to blame? I have just asked DH if he will open windows and air house when he gets in each day as he doesn't feel the cold. Does air just need to circulate?

Off to locate my nearest launderette!

we too have a condensation/damp problem, but our house is nearly 200 years old!
notice it more in the winter after drying clothes and cooking so think its more lifestyle than the property itself. We've bought a dryer and de-humidifier and it seems to have improved.touch wood!

We have a 1970s BTL which is built from really hard black things which look like breeze blocks (and bricks on the outer wall) There's no cavity in the wall. When we replaced the windows a few years back with super double glazing damp problems and some mould in 2 of the rooms started - turns out the old windows were naturally drafty. :D C/H isn't necessarily to blame - our BTL doesn't have mains gas so the heating is electric. When I got a damp specialist in he said the use of the tumble drier and heavy smoking (yuk) of our tenant combined with the new windows was probably the main factor in our case. Tenant advised to open windows and doors to allow air to circulate, smoke outside and actually heat the room where the main damp/ mould issue was (never put heating on in that room but used to dry clothes over airers in there, but never opened window)

Relieved it's not just my house. I won't rush off and buy a new build, unless Gallygirl pops along of course!

Sig updates as it's the 1st of the month. Nice to see mortgage dip below 95k. Have only reduced WIOTW figure by £400 but we did a balance transfer this month incurring a charge so I was relieved it didn't go up!

£48.91 spent on food so far this month as DH picked up some £5 vouchers. Am not going to hit £200 budget in December but still going to keep track.

There's another Monday out of the way!

Thanks brodiebobs and GreenT, going to be more conscious of opening windows etc and hopefully get on top of it. Think I will use TD less and dry clothes in playroom with window open as we can still keep rest of house warm using that room.

    Roll on the Srping hey!

Tilly tidy of 8p some yesterday and CB should land in account today. It's a much nicer feeling seeing it in credit than chasing my tail all month.

GG your post made me smile after a rubbish day. Life feels like such a rush. A full day at work plus commute is just under 10 hours and last two evenings have had to rush out in the evening.
Last night was christmas shopping and tonight to get something fixed on the car. Feel better now it is done though.

Really need to get around to buying car insurance. Best quote so far is £330 for both cars and £57 cashback! Dipped back into OD but DH gets paid on Friday so I can cope with that.

Other than that not much to report, roll on the weekend!

Having a day off today and I have made a huge 'to do' list so after school run really need to get on. Current account looking very depleted as swimming fees have gone out. also still need to pay the electrician but waiting on invoice.

Small food shop planned but havea £10off £50 @ldi voucher so will bulk it with wine and stocking fillers.

Other than that I want to do a bit of a financial plan and hope some fantastic OP's materialise out of somewhere!

This is after cleaning the whole house!
