Another decluttering sale made yesterday and another expected on Monday. requested £1.80 from TCB so that will be OP'd too. Had a phonecall from FD earlier about my current account application and I mentioned my problems getting paperwork to support mortgage application and once again they were incredibly helpful. Took DD to soft play earlier and spent about £8!!! She did have fun though and I love to see how quickly she makes friends.

I'd better try and MAKE some money at some point today!

Just been working out January pay and I think we can send another OP of £150 when we get paid :) Am sure I can find extra to add to this too! 'Car account' is a little short to meet CC bill for insurance so need to pay £160 out of wages this month.

Spoke to FD again yesterday who once again gave great advice re: my mortgage application. Need to get DH to make a phone call when he gets home from work and we should be almost there!

Ooh, just realised that my January pay covers February Council Tax so that should free up another OP of £108! :D It's adding up nicely

  • Good for you! It is hard to economise when you want to treat the children but you are doing very well,

Today started off so well and quickly went downhill when I was told DH had been overpaid 13 days in last job as they paid him till the end of the month when he left on the 18th and payday was 20th - I do not understand this! Then DH realised the dental treatment he thought was having for free was going to cost £170!!

Bad news about DH's pay and dental bill when you were doing so well, but it is just a blip so keep ploughing on! :)

At least the ctax bill not needing to be paid has offset some of the expense. Keep plodding

Back to positivity this morning!! :)

DH got paid for missing shift so transferred that amount into separate account to offset cost of pay and dentist!! DH has volunteered to pay dentist out of personal spends (which he only wastes anyway!!) so that will help a lot!!

Posted 2 items I had sold this morning so they are out of the way. Much easier to do on way back from nursery with only one child in tow!

Mortgage statement arrived this morning showing we paid £4k in interest last year! Doesn't really specify more than that, hasn't shortened term etc so not sure why I was so excited about opening it!!

Still struggling to find last bit of paperwork needed for new mortgage application. I have lost our P60's for 2010/11 and my payroll are going to issue another but DH previous employers are going to charge £12 and tbh I don't trust them at the moment!!

  • Just catching up on your diary. Well done on the new job :j:j:j! And five months before you have to go back, brilliant. Sounds like the decluttering is going well too.

Hope you sort the paperwork out, and good to hear that OH will defray the dentist expenses.

You are doing so well, I only hope I have half as much energy as you when I'm on mat leave!

Wow you do so well to get so much done with a tiny one in toe! My little one is 2 weeks and I seem to be in a sleepless fog most of the time, and when DH goes back to work on Monday it'll take a real effort to keep the house clean and tidy, you're doing so well to be decluttering it too. I'll keep coming back to your thread to remind myself I mustn't make excuses for slacking with a baby! x

The first two weeks are so hard, DH went back to work straightaway and I literally kept on top of the washing and that was it. We still have some days when all baby wants to do is feed and those are total right offs and I don't get anything done until DH comes home!

Sold some more stuff so transferred money to savings. Planned to get some decluttering done today but it didn't happen! I did a food shop using vouchers and planned to transfer equivalent to send as an OP but our laptop has broken. The charger has been faulty for ages and the battery wouldn't hold it's charge at all. We have had it for over 3.5 years so it has lasted well but I didn't anticipate buying a new one as soon as today!! It's gone on the credit card to it will need to paid for by the end of Feb. I'm almost at payout on a site so I can transfer that. Also, when my GTM cheque arrived I paid it into the village branch of bank and it has remained untouched as I literally only use the account to pay in cheques so I don't need to go into town to do so, therefore, this can go off the CC too. ( had already sent the OP and planned to use that money when I needed it to replace what I had transferred).

It has been such an expensive weekend I am ready for a glass of wine now!!! Children are fast asleep so I think it's deserved!
