Parcel posted this morning of rainmac I sold so that's another item decluttered. Also had 2 bank credits, one from Amazon and one from Paypal so I have sent £40 to savings. I was itching to send it to the mortgage but I can meet my OP target for the month by sending it from wages on payday.
Barely any sleep last night, DD woke at 3am shouting 'daddy, I'm having a wee in my bedroom!' Luckily after a clothes and bed change she went straight back to sleep which I'm impressed with as sleep has always been such a big issue. A few weeks ago she automatically would have come in with us.
Have realised I have a moses basket in my mum's gargage which I don't need so I am going to pick that up later and hopefully sell it! It's very frilly and I'm sure it won't suit my huge boy at all!
Have also emailed a CV for DH so fingers crossed there. He has phoned to say he's working late so it will just be me and DD till her bedtime.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Sold another item (a dress) so will get that posted tomorrow. That reminds me that I need to sell my wedding dress but no idea where to advertise. I am not expecting a lot for it but it is stunning! It's just hanging in the wardrobe and has done for 7.5 years!
Have £30 Quidco money ready for payment, am assuming this will be September 1st? Also claimed first Amazon voucher from BP for ages so I can credit account with that on Thursday. GTM is going well, back up to 130 points already and almost at payout on mysurvey.
Have been looking at the house plans to see if there is a cheaper way of achieving what we want (kitchen diner, bigger bathroom and bigger 3rd bedroom) but the architect in me is not revealing itself! I'm wondering if we can get away with single width 2 storey extension rather than full width which I am assuming would halve the cost?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I have sooo much to do but very little energy to do it after only having 4 or 5 hours sleep
£10 credited account from lotto win so I have sent that to savings, i'm getting good at this!
Today I need to complete this list as I keep putting it off:- Sort out hospital bag which includes ordering items I need

Had a better nights sleep!! :j
Energy permitting I want to give the house a good clean today. Also need to buy bits for hospital bag. I am determined to enjoy everyday of this pregnancy as I realise I am so lucky to have a wonderful healthy daughter and another healthy baby on the way. Am trying not to moan but I am having a few pregnancy complications/ailments and I feel the next 7-8 weeks will be very uncomfortable. I am also quite worried as to how big the baby is and i think is why I have the problems I do.
£25.25 has landed in current account from TCB but I think I will have to leave it these until tax credits go in next week or I will go overdrawn and incur a daily charge (not very MSE).
Still no news on DH's job, they said he would hear Monday? At what point should he give them a ring????? DH isn't well at the moment, I think he has a chest infection. I just hope he gets sent home early as he isn't well enough to be there. He can't not go in as the manager is also off and is quite poorly so not expected back just yet.
Am watching a couple of items on ebay but wondering whether to buy new from Amazon (obv more expensive but I have vouchers so essentially free?)June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Aw poor DH hope he gets better soon and manages to get some rest!!
hospital bag?... when is baby due- cant believe how quick that has come round!! best of luck for the next few weeks !!
hmmm...re the ebay amazon dilema Id be tempted to go for the voucher option if free ...sometimes short term gratification has to win over (IMO)!0 -
TYO baby is due 3rd October but need to get things ready before I get too tired although I fear that has already happened. I am 33 weeks on Monday but having a really big baby so wondering if I will get to full term. I think Amazon is going to win too - seems the better option!
Michelle thanks for the info re: breast pads, I meant to pop to boots today but DD has been a handful so going out seemed far too brave! Will check out the survey on BP, thanks for that. I did redeem this week but haven't had my email yet. I think we will have to bring the cot in our room, I want baby in with me for 6 months and DD was 9lb 10.5oz and I think this baby is bigger (hoping not too much bigger) but I would be surprised if he was less than 10lb! Will have a look at your pics, mine are in an album Baby T no 2.
DH is home from work and has gone to bed, DD has just fallen asleep so I think I'll do a bit of housework - after I''ve had an egg custard!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Have had to go to the doctors today due to some side effects of pregnancy, I came out of the chemist with a carrier bag full of stuff!!
Been out today as DH off and feeling better, bought a few bits for my hospital bag from boots and as I was paying the cashier reminded me to join the parenting club. I did all of this with DD but nothing this time around. Hopefully have some freebies coming my way now as well as extra advantage card points. Resisted going out for lunch, instead we had something to eat in Costcos (DH paid and it was tasty and cheap, the alternative would have been me spending £20 somewhere!)
Not done much in the way of surveys etc as been so busy so will catch up with those and everyones diaries tomorrow.
Have a great weekend everyone. I am back to work Sunday and will be counting down the shifts! 10 to go!!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
The late stages of pregnancy are no fun cath, i can sympathise. It will be all worth it in the end though.
I remember counting the days left that i had at work aswell, like you i couldnt wait to be finished. I am going back shortly...i cannot believe 9 months has passed already. Hope you have a good weekendCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000 -
Thanks WABL, i only had 6 months maternity leave last time so i'm hoping 9 months feels quite generous. I need to have a sit down with my manager when I go back as I am likely to be redeployed during maternity leave due to closures (really had hoped it would be sorted by now!), I want to know about Keeping In Touch (KIT) days. May benefit me to work the odd sunday before I go back for extra money. I also want to be assured I will be kept informed of job opportunities, increased hours etc. They took on 4 temp staff and gave one full time hours and in an ideal world I should work more hours than DH as I earn a lot more.
We chased up his interview and unfortunately he didn't get the one he applied for but they did offer him a position. Couldn't accept it though as it was only 16 hours! He now says he is happy to stay where he is!!
Had a letter from tax people and I am owed a rebate of £39 which is better than nothing, I will possibly get something back for this tax year aswell, or possibly just pay less tax this month so will check payslip on payday.
I think I have been spending a bit too much as clearing the CC this month will leave things tight! A tight month it will have to be! Have budgeted for an OP of £100 so MF date will go to April 2029. Any other bits of money that arrive will go into savings.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
