Oops! That'll be the horrible catch then!! Mind you, it makes you wonder why they couldn't do it here if they can do it there...£2 coin savers club: £1.49

Ahhh ... the catch! Yes, you're definitely right about the Blue CC link - this is the UK version.
However, I'm pretty sure the card holder offers are for everyone - you can navigate to them from the UK pages, i.e. http://www.americanexpress.com/uk . This link should take you to the UK version - but the offers look the same as when you go to the original link I posted, but select UK for country ... nothing I can see seems to suggest that they're for US card members only?0 -
Sorry if this has been asked before.
Platinum cashback. Could someone clarify please, the 2% over the £7500 spend is it 2% on anything over the £7500
I ve just been credited £88.60 for an eligable spend of £8367.00? I thought it would be more than that for the spend.
Many thanks0 -
the 2% is applied to just the spend above £7500. Would be nice if it applied to all of it0

The Amex Platinum looks really useful for cashback - I've just read Martin's article and fancy giving it a try. The only problem is that I wonder whether I should pace myself with credit card applications a bit - I got myself a Halifax One in November, and a Skycard last month, and I have also opened a couple of current accounts in that time. I will need a card to replace the Halifax in October/November. Should I wait a couple of months before I try for the Amex?£2 coin savers club: £1.49

My platinum credit card chip n pin card just arrived. They haven't redesigned it; it's the same card with a chip on it. At least it looks a bit less embarrassing.0

I also claimed mine was faulty - new one on its way. My existing "signature only" card continues to give me grief and embarassment. Even if I know the checkout operator is joking ("I've never seen a card without a chip in it, is it real?"), I get cold looks from everyone behind me in the queue!0

Once you spend more than £7501 the 2% cash back is applied to ALL of your spend for that year. if you don't reach the £7501 threshold then the lower rate applies.
For example if you have spent £12000 you will get £240 cashback on the anniversary date that you joined American Express.0 -

You will have to check the Terms and conditions for all the details ,for example if you spend on the card and then have the spend refunded to the Amex card you will not qualify for the cashback on that amount.
If you have spent £8367 your cashback will be 2% on that amount =£167.340 -
