    Morning everyone (just)

    It's bucketing down here.

Thinking of going to Bowes Museum. I'm making cheese sandwiches for lunch and taking them with us. DS will NOT be happy, he just loves going to "the Cathy". But no - I am economising.

Made soup for dinner - just need to think of something I can make as pudding. Hard since I have no eggs. Got SR flour and some muscovado sugar and butter, surely I can create some sort of biscuits out of that lot. I'll get my thinking cap on

    Take care everyone

    Morning everyone :hello:

Had a great time at our godson's 2nd birthday party! He managed to get all his food all over his face............ topped off by his chocolate birthday cake going in his hair. :rotfl: DH and I bought him a play airport (from the Boots clearance sale in Jan!!) and a bubble machine. He (godson, not DH :D) just stood there and was practically in a trance as these bubbles were flying out around the garden.

DH is making carrot and coriander soup for lunch today from a Rosemary Conley recipe. It makes a good vat load of soup, so there's plenty to freeze. Supper tonight will be a "sweet and sour" chicken that the recipe comes from a church fundraiser cookbook.

I've got a few bananas "on the turn", so I may well try to find a bit of time to turn them into banana muffins or banana loaf. In the meantime, I've still got loads of school work to be done for tomorrow.........

    See you later

    Vicky

PS Glad those people who went on the mini meet yesterday had a good time. Looks like it was a good day......... with Spud taking charge! :D

    Morning all,

Well I have finally managed to be OS in a mass baking kind of way, having managed to defrost the freezer by not shuting the door properly.....yes an enforced one. So between yesterday and today I have made 5 banana loaves...enough bolagnaise to last OH the rest of the year....must go and make a couple of pies and then roast the beef joint that kindly defrosted as well!!!

Thankfully, having been following a strict budget and using up the items in the fridge and freezer the disaster wasn't as bad as it would have been a few months back....and I have now used up ALL the bananas I have frozen and have frozen the loaves....so now I have a tray in the freezer of cake hmmmmm perfect for the next few revsion weeks where I will be needing them!!!!

:) Hope you all have a lovely day today, sorry for those enjoying heavy rain we have glorious sunshine here today.....Berkshire way

  • Afternoon everyone! Chucking it down here and soooo miserable. Took dog for walk with son & hubby and got soaked.
Having chicken roast dinner at lunchtime. I love Sunday lunch with the family round the table.
WM on - have 3 loads to do today and will have to use TD.
Went to Toys-R-Us yesterday & noticed PS2 Star Wars Lego II game for £34.99; pleased as punch as I only paid £14.99 from Amazon (son wants this for his b'day). This after, son has HM, I'm trying to make muffins (not done these before), & we're watching Star Wars Episode II tonight (son a big fan). Loads of ironing to do, school stuff to get sorted for tomorrow.
Will have to collect son from school tomorrow as on Friday when coming home from school, 2 men put him into a wheelie bin, shut the lid & then left him as a joke. Phoned the police and school but I'm so shocked & annoyed  that this has been done to him. He's just started middle school & I wasn't keen at him going on his own, but he wanted some independence. Now that's gone out the window thanks to these two idiots.
Anyway that's my rant over with for you. Have a good day everyone!

    afternoon !

Had a terrific thunderstorm here this morning about 7am but has cleared up now thank goodness as I've got washing coming out of my ears!

Came back from hols with a cough and cold:mad: so am in need of TLC!

Been carbooting this morning but only got some bramleys to make my crumbles with. Called in at a sports shop and got DS2 some new trainers for £14:j he takes size 11:eek: and is really hard on shoes. Trainers only last about 4 - 6 weeks before they wear out!

Got a mountain of ironing awaiting me too!

Hugs to all those who had bad nights and any fellow poorlies!

Back to old style in earnest now after a week away, this afternoon need to menu plan and check all the cupboards and freezers so I can economise where possible as DS1 needs books for college, one priced at £55:eek:

    Better crack on anyway!

Back later for a tea break!;)
    Do what you love :happyhear

    Afternoon everyone
A pretty nothing happening day for me today. Boyfriend went out last night and didn't get home until nearly 5am...with no money left (took 150 with him  ) and a receipt for a lap dancing club  I am really coming to the end of my teather with him.

Anyway, I have a week off work so decided to give myself today off from cleaning/cooking etc. Although I did get a massive bag of oats for 28p from home bargains the other day so I might have a go at making some flapjacks...a bit put off by a few people on here having disasters with them.

I think I might get the minced beef and pork out of the freezer ready to make a ragu tomorrow too. Other than that a very lazy day for me :j
  • Afternoon all :j

Made some gorgeous choc chip cookies this morning - bet there won't be any left by the end of the day ;)

Beef has been browned and tossed into the SC for beef stew and dumplings tonight. Am just about to overhaul my bedroom - I'd like to see some carpet for a change :p

Still got the usual ironing of school/work uniforms to do, DD has some HW to do and I might make up the weeks sarnies and bung them in the freezer ......... that's the plan anyway :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day

    (((((hugs)))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Afternoon all! :p

DH and DD have gone to his mum's for the day so I'm on my own - bliss!! :j

I do have to do some revision though, so if I'm on here for too long, please do shout!

WM on, first load out on the line
Kitchen does look like a bomb site though, so will have to load DW soon, and spread the stardrops around! We're re-doing our kitchen atm, (not very OS I know!), and I've been without a hob, or a sink, or running water for 6 weeks now.. I'm a bit fed up of using the outside tap to fill up the kettle!!

Church this morning was hugely invigorating - we had a trumpet player accompany us on 'oh when the saints..' which was fab, and not like our (fairly traditional) usual service at all!! :rotfl:

back to the reading  and thanks for making me feel welcome yesterday - much appreciated :p

    Afternoon all,

Glad the meet went well yesterday, will look at the pics when I've posted this.

Geordielass, that is dreadful, was he okay?

Gorgeous day here again, although woke to torrential rain and thunder. All washing was done yesterday but have still managed to dredge up two loads today, one is done, other about to go on.

Just had lunch HM bread with cheese, salami and cherry toms. Also had a gorgeous cup of tea, have taken to drinking herbal or decaff as wasn't sleeping (already kicked coffee) and am now sleeping like the dead!!

Dinner is chicken fajitas for DH and I, kids are having friends to tea so they are having pizza & chips (none of it homemade I'm afraid :o ) and chocolate fudge cake, definitely HM!!!;)

Have been cleaning like a demon all morning, kids room looks fab but decided to remove the door to their toy cupboard to replace with red gingham curtain. Unfortunately can't get door into new car to take it to the dump as the seats don't go down!!

Right must go and sweep up the crumbs before guests arrive, have a lovely day all and hugs to those in need.
