18yo Desperately Seeking £1600 by Monday

Hey, I am 18 years old and a student and I am having an operation on Monday which I urgently require £1600 for.

I have tried a few well known banks and credit cards but I have been rejected and I have now applied to several loan companies over the internet but I am worried that some of them may fraudulent. However, I still really need the money. I am not sure whether my dad would agree to being a guarantor.

I currently bank with Lloyds TSB and Alliance & Leicester. I applied for a loan with Lloyds TSB over the internet but I wasn't successful (this could be because my account is an under 19s account, I have a meeting with my bank manager to upgrade it to a student account on Friday). I am hopefully going to Alliance & Leicester tommorow to try and get finance.

I have applied to Natwest and RBS but I don't know if my accounts will be set up by Monday.

I am starting to really panic, should I get a few small loans from companies such as Wonga? Does anyone have any other companies to recommend? Can anybody help in any way?

Thank you for reading (:

You could use the NHS, it's free.

Does the student account come with an overdraft? Sometimes those are £2-£3k.

Do you really want to rack up that kind of debt though? It can be a real bind for years to come :(

seriously? I've never heard of a private clinic booking you for an op before you confirmed means of payment, as usually you start to pay at the consultancy stage.

What is the full story please?
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.

Yes, I am hoping that if I manage to get enough student accounts by Monday I could possibly reach the price using overdrafts but maybe I am living in a dream world.

Yeah I had my consultancy a couple of weeks ago at Nuffield Hospital, they booked me in and my appointment is on Monday. I am just really worried that I won't have the money in time. What will happen if I go to the clinic and don't have enough money?

  • Have you started to consider how you are going to repay this loan at all?

If it's a boob job, maybe a few others will join me in chipping in!
Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling

They will not perform the operation and they will invoice you for time spent on your case to date.

Yes, I have got two jobs and I'm earning enough to live happily and still pay off this debt (plus I will have money from Student Finance for living costs anyway)

    Unfortuantely it isn't a boob job ;)

Why can you not get it done on the NHS if it is urgent?
