The BPA is NOT there to protect the interests of the consumer. It is nothing more than a trade association, which its members pay to join.
From its site:
...BPA represents, promotes and influences the best interests of the parking and traffic management sectors throughout the UK and Europe. As well as this work, the BPA provides its members with a range of benefits all aimed at helping the professional in their day to day work.0 -

The MP-(I dont know if anyone can do that previous link i mentioned,I cant) calls them the umbrella organisation of the British Parking Industry. If DVLA is allowing its "properly regulated "members to access this, we have a right to know what the regulations are.,otherwise how would we know if they breached them?0 -

Hence my earlier post, if they're getting into regulation and codes of conduct (in their treatment of the public) then that extends their remit beyond a purely typical trade association to include what happens to the public and that in turn must require some kind of feedback system to make it in any way meaningful."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

DVLA site say that BPA have details of their "approved operators scheme "on their BPA site... They also say" all ATA s (approved trade associations) must have details of their COP (code of practice ) on their website, and provide contact details for enquiries and complaints"Where is it..?0

Methinks the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. So far it appears that the BPA consider themselves to be a purely trade association for professionals with nothing to do with conduct or regulation, and yet DVLA seem to be treating/talking about them almost as if they are a watchdog/regulatory organisation."She is quite the oddball. I just think there is an implication in what you say that none of the people on CAG and Pepipoo can possibly be correct when they say they've beat the parking companies. OK, so they haven't provided transcripts, but purely going off common sense, I think most people on forums are honest and accurate most of the time, so I choose to believe that most of reported victories written about on there are genuine.
I will repeat myself agian when I say "I dont know", I dont take rumours or groups of probabilities as FACT. Wether those folk are honest or not, all they technically are is statistics. That your confusing this with me claiming that people are "Liars", or in someway "dishonest", could not be further from the truth. Lets just say im not interested in Pepipoo or CAG, they are just more forum sites, nothing on there is static proof, or evidence. If there are so many of these succesful cases, I would much rather see some kind of official document that proves it. Rather than having to rely on peoples say so.
A Post on a forum or Posts on Forums, no matter how honest they maybe, are nowhere near the kind of evidence I am looking for.
To clarify, any case in a court, is not proven without reasonable doubt, by a selection of anonymous posts. No matter how good intentioned the posts are. They are rendered "inadmissable" in a court.
I dont assume everyone on a forum is making things up, but at the same time I dont assume everyone on a forum, are talking facts. Moreso if there is nothing to back them up.
Am I to "assume", that all I need to claim victory, is a good defence lawyer? It would probably be far cheaper for me to pay up, once I see a surge as big as the mentioned MSE bank fee's, I might be more convinced, but without so much as a tiny bit of evidence, no matter how many people scream success, it can only be trusted with caution. Up until someone says "look, see for yourself":A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I think the answer is if you're not convinced then pay up or don't get a ticket in the first place, if you do believe that they will NOT take you to court then ignore them and follow the routine given on such sites as Pepipoo and CAG.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

If you follow the second option then do let us know what happens !"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

There was a thread recently (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=725689) where someone was frustrated that a car kept parking outside their driveway and therefore he couldn't drive into his own driveway. If there's no consequence to parking in places you shouldn't or take the mick in the time and rules in the places you can then we have a free for all where everybody is inconvenienced without recourse and loses."She is quite the oddball. Thats different, as its a dropped kerb then a call to the local council should get a positive response. The thread is about private parking and parking invoices issued by supermarkets etc.;)

99.99% of the time, Nothing, so if I let you know that nothing happened would you accept this?:DI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
