Technically, you have got what you were offered, I think, from reading your post. You write you were offered "600 Mins Any Network Anytime + 500 Texts + Unlimited web browsing " and that's what you have got (subject to the std 1Gb limit)
What it did not say was "600 Mins Any Network Anytime + 500 Texts + Unlimited web browsing + additional choice of free booster".
This may seem unfair or even sharp practice, but I am not sure that you have any real grounds for complaint. But I can see why you may be a bit annoyed if you were expecting the additional booster. Always check these things out before you sign.0 -
I would add two things. Although he hasn't mentioned it he would have automatically got signed up for a months' free insurance. If he hasn't cancelled that he can make a claim for the stolen phone. One of my people recently forgot (despite my reminders!) to cancel it and when they subsequently had a catastrophic event with an expensive got it replaced under the insurance.
Secondly, the only excuse for failing to get your cashback when due is by not following the ground rules and then being thrown off track if they choose to start playing games with you. Following the ground rules starts from the point of sale - and the longer they are left unattended to the more precarious your position. That much is within the customer's control no matter what game this dealer decides to play.0 -

Of course some of us were so shocked at the about turn of "someone else" we were convinced you had hacked his account from the safety of some distant dodgy internet cafe.0 -

Now, now Quentin. Peace and harmony, if you please. And if you remember, my main gripe was what I considered to be personal attacks on Ben with rather unparliamentary language and when I considered that some members had lost their objectivity, substituting subjectivity. The mods must also have agreed as they closed a considerable number of threads.
If you looked back on some of my earlier posts, you will see that I criticised him and the company when they failed to deliver promises made on here and when their web site was clearly ambiguous or wrong, as well as more recent ones re their cashback.
But moving on. I am a believer in honesty in business and I gave gained from the recent posts on this company that they are failing to make legitimate cashbacks and that their on-line system for claims seems to fail with too much regularity. Under these circumstances, I take the view that, until they are seen to improve, those who have not the resolve of MJ and others to pursue matters to the end, should go for a less attractive cash back reseller but one that had a better track record.0 -
Pity you didn't consider the not-so-recent warnings and posts in the same vein then! Interesting how you assume the moderators agreed with you; considering you wanted me chucked off (when I and a few others showed both "resolve" and knowledge which it seems to have taken - er - some others months to acquire - and some diehards still haven't!) at a time were I/we had substantial experience of the dealer and you were giving succour to what were patently blatant lies coming from the rep you gave the benefit of the doubt to (even when there was no doubt). The on-line claims issue may be new, but denying legitimate claims is certainly old hat and not recent news (except to the few).
Having been accused at various times of a) working for E2Save b) using "unparliamentary language" to someone who would have made a wonderful MP and then being told I should get struck off for warnings which (months later) are finally being not only heeded but spoken by those same people, methinks people can make their own judgements as to what is good advice and what is not.0 -
Good advice is one thing, but how it is given and the language used is another.
But for Heaven's sake - move on. If it helps you to think of my "conversion" in the vein of Luke 15:7, then please do so and let's get on to the main matter of helping MSE members who are being denied their legal rights.0 -
I didn't realised I wasn't! However, hindsight may be a wonderful thing to the converted BUT prevention is much better than cure.
Of course, had I been "chucked off" we could have relied on your postings....
Fortunately I am more interested in what is actually going on and advising accordingly than religious tomes, so never invoked "an eye for an eye". Maybe your Christian virtue is why you spent months inventing excuses for the rep on his behalf (when he'd exhausted his own list of "bird flu" ect.) before even you began to realise he was a waste of space.
In any case, my knowledge of this dealer and advice remain the same; unless you are (extremely) experienced and knowledgable don't get involved with them. If you are experienced and knowledgeable, use them by all means provided you follow the groundrules.0 -

Bit rich coming from someone who previously complained that our posts were neither fair nor objective (as far as the abusive Ben (the proven liar) was concerned, so not even anything to do with you!!) and then sanctimoniously quoted Burns at us from his poem to a louse!0 -
Sounds very similar to the issues I had with them - that their website doesn't accurately describe the contract being offered. It took many months of serious discussion right up to the point where I was going to pay the £150 (iirc) to take them to court because I believe they had misrepresented the contract offered (Misrepresentration Act 1967). <http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/t-mobile-htc-desire.html> describes: 600 Mins Any Network Anytime + 500 Texts + Unlimited web browsing
The 'unlimited' web browsing I had taken to be part of the base package, and being an Android phone on T-mobile a 3GB fair usage limit.
However, when I called t-mobile to ask about the 'booster' that I thought was included in the deal I was informed that the internet was provided through the booster and as such was a 1GB limit. Without the booster set to internet I would have no free internet as part of my base contract.
I have searched their site to find a better description of the unlimited internet on this deal and to a fair usage policy, however, I have not found anything that details this, or that the internet is provided through the booster rather than the base T-Mobile contract.
I feel as though I have been 'mis-sold' the deal by the website as it does not seem to quote either a fair usage policy or the internet being provided by the 'free' booster.
Is anyone aware of where, if at all, this lives on their website? Have checked the T&Cs to no avail....
As many have said, you really need to be aware of this company and to research and understand the deals they offer before you use them!0 -
One of the people I look after has now encountered a similar problem to those recently reported i.e. cashback claim sent, definitely received but no acknowledgement of either receipt or acceptance. Of course, we have taken suitable steps and I will be keeping a close eye on it. I very much doubt it will be necessary to sue (although that wouldn't be a problem) since it appears that thus far they cough up when held to account. Will be interesting to see how it develops; about to take out another contract with them. What fun they are!!0
