Can I be thick and ask what is a PAC code? is it something to do with keeping your old number?52% tight0

I rang Virgin a couple of days ago and told them I was moving to Tesco because of the better deal. They offered me a deal with internet access and 600 minutes but it was going to be 18 quid a month but they would knock 4 quid a month off, making it 14. They didn't offer me anything else and asked if I wanted to cancel then so I did. They didnt pass me to another department. Just after I had put the phone down my mobile rang telling me that I had cancelled my contract.
Just realised that maybe I should have asked for a PAC number, but then again my contract doesnt expire until the end of the month so I suppose I should do it nearer the time???
I wondered if they might ring me up and make me a better offer after a couple of days, or do they only do this is you ask for a PAC number, or does it depend on who you speak to and if they have had a good day or not:rotfl::hello:  please play nicely children !0 -

It's called a Port Authentication Code and it is what you obtain from your current service provider in order to pass onto your proposed service provider so that you can retain your telephone number.0 -
Hi all this deal seems great but can someone explain the "3 months unlimited data" what do they mean by the 3 months bit ??0
-
3 months unlimited data means the you get unlimited (I was told 500mb a month but you can use all that in the first month!!)
for the first three months
So take out sim now September and you have free data till November.
Then you need to change the contract or pay for your data.
Next tariff is £15 a month.
Hope this helps.0 -
It's not for 3 months, it's for good. 500mb cap per month.0
