Sounds promising for next year. Thanks re the car hunting. I think I will leave it til the new year. I am away for Christmas and I am going to see if work will let me have a hire car when I need to go anywhere (otherwise stay where I am). I am pondering debt for a landy. OH says I am mad but I feel like being a bit mad. Hence waiting til the New Year.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Oh, like the sound of building modified cars. I so wish I was handy. My friend used to work at a well known tyre fitters when she was 19 and she was the only girl Now she is the kind who hates to be left out so, on the quiet, she took a car mechanics course (she was the receptionist). One day a fella came in with a problem with his car, all the lads from the workshop were gathered around the bonnet trying to work it out. She wandered out and asked what the problem was. They told here (in a rather patronising manner) and so she just leaned in and fiddled with something (she did tell me what but hey I was more interested in beer at that age) and then said to start the engine, they all laughed at her buy agreed to indulge her. Flick of the key, engine starts purring. She walks away feeling all smug. Still talks about it 27 years later.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Hey Pippa, how's things going with you? Thankfully it's warmed up quite a lot down here now - although today was the first time in a while that I didn't feel really cold when I was out.
Well done with the decorating.
