  • ok - I've run Dr Web and it's found a whole pile of stuff - some that its deleted - others marked incurable. moved.

The Dr Web page (sorry if I'm being dense here:o) is showing 'file - settings - help' across the top.... and underneath is a list of all the rubbish it's found... underneath that is 'greyed out'.... what do I do now??:o (I'm writing this from a laptop)

The dr web logfile is found at one of these 2 places ~
    C:\Program Files\DrWeb
    C:\Users\username\DoctorWeb
Scan right to the bottom (If memory serves) where it should tell us whats been removed etc

  • thanks - found it! - there's pages of snapshot - but this is at the end.

    Hows it running now?

  • seems to be better - still a bit of a delay loading up but think that's just compared to a brand new laptop we've just got!

I've installed Avira - anything else I should do?

    and what about this......?
danthemoneysavingman this entry looks dubious: c:\windows\system32\6B80B99C35.sys

such randomly-named items are rarely good news

sorry dont help much but there's my $0.02
