Just to be picky, the MOT testers manual refers to sharp edges or protrusions, caused by damage or corrosion.
A intentional sharp edge, corner etc. would fail an SVA/IVA test, and would be illegal to use on the road as it would not conform to Construction & Use regulations, but should not fail an MoT, though the tester would normally note this as an advisory, and possibly 'This vehicle may be dangerous to drive because...'
Just re highlighted your post to show how vague and open to interpretation this could be, there is no definition of sharp, so could be glass, could be an edge exposed by removing glass or complete unit etc etc.
Strange how the IVA guidlines do not carry over.:oI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
