Hi All,
Right, my MOT is due this saturday, and last night i had an argument with a pheasent!
I am now front fog lightless, it broke the bracket holding the light in situ, on the passengers side. The guys at work have removed it and taped up the electrics - is this going to fail it's MOT?
I will replace the light, but funds are a bit tight and it's a take the whole front bumper off to put a new one in jobbie!
Please have good news for me and my wallet!

AFAIK if it's not fitted then it doesn't have to work......“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Front fog lights aren't mandatory, only rear. I think it will be ok0

Very first section....
I read that as either both or none need to be present, but that masking over the "extra" one is acceptable...Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
Hi All,
Many thanks for that....
INT1 - that's what i've read that i only have to have the rear ones working, but then reading the link Catflea has posted confuses me even more! Ahhh, why can't something be simple and written in plain English for once?!0 -
Just mask the other one with gaffa tape and it should be hunky dory
You may however get an advisory note....Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
Catflea - i can live with an advisory note...
Looks like i'm going to be playing with some gaffa tape tonight, that should give my neighbours something to laugh at!

Was told when I MOT'd the Perdana (which has front and rear) that only one rear needs to be present and working. However, the same tester then passed my lights after thinking sides were full beam.....0

Ignore the normal "if fitted must work" rubbish, that only applies in a handful of items.
Front fog lamps are nothing to do with the MOT, the test will have absolutely no concern for them. They're simply not in the book, same as the reverse lamp or the spare wheel.
 Really boils my p**s this one.

The other one has nothing to do with this. Provided there bare no radii less than 5mm and no exposed broken glass, all will be OK.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Eh?
Even broken glass would be a difficult one to reject, you'd have to somehow prove that the foglamps (located at the bottom of the bumper...) could cause injury to a passing peadestrian.
