ha ha ha, i know. I am close to taking on that very task myself!
I wouldn't put carrots in a chicken and leek pie. I might consider putting them in a chicken, leek and carrot pie.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

chopped potatoes would bulk it out and not change the taste at all...

Ill probably end up just making the recipe as is now! Argh! I know if i put potatoes in it my Mum would [STRIKE]criticise[/STRIKE] point it out and comment how i shouldnt change things  In fact, she would do the same with carrots
i made her flapjcks to take into work one day and she complained because i added chocolate chips and hadnt previously. If it's not broke , don't try to fix it etcA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Well, I didn't bother doing anything to accompany mine, so a nice portion of carrots, potatoes etc should mean they need less pie each, IYSWIM?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Yeah, you would think so, but my Mum always over compensates. Managed to get two free range chickens for £8 and leeks were £2-3 so all in all it will cost about a fiver so that's ok! :jA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Brown lentils go really well with chicken & leeks! They're not as cheap as red lentils, and they do need soaking, but they're delicious. Mushrooms also go well (but obviously don't provide so much bulk).
I have to say I don't usually serve potatoes with pastry, but I would have lots of veggies (carrots, broccoli, peas/beans) with this. It looks delicious, but I'm far to lazy to make itI'm having chicken cooked with peppers, mushrooms & spinach tonight, and it's being served with rice & broccoli rather than having a lid put on it!

it is a bit of a faff to make but definitely worth it for the results. It is to die for and the gravy is drooliciousA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
