    (just off to check what time DH finishes work on Sunday)

    What we doing then? chicken, beef or is it a general 'roast'?

    P.S. Jobbing musician - where are you? I've got my handy Good Housekeeping Household Bible thing but need some practical help from JM (and anyone else experienced in the roast dept!).

    I am free this Sunday and would love to do it then or we could do it next weekend - anyone else want to join in?

    I need:-

    *a shopping list
    *instructions (for an idiot)
    *timings

    etc etc

    Please help! Should I start a new thread?

    I'm very touched to be asked for, especially by such an experienced MSE as you, SS! :D

    Very willing to help, with the following reservations

    1. I have 3 mystery shops to do on Sunday, so couldn't do Sunday lunch, sadly. :(

    2. The third of these shops involves drinking 2 alcholoci (lol my keyboard spelling has its own comments!) drinks, so I might not be at my best when I get home! I was planning to return about 5pm - would this be too late?
    Next weekend would be better, if you can bear to wait....

    3. I have cooked roast beef LOADS of times, but haven't made Yorkies for at least 5 years, on the basis of weight control! :rotfl:

    But I'm sure loads of other people will help. I think a new thread's a good idea - I'll post recipes and hints there, if you start one.

    Yes. This one's on pies and too huge to add another onto the end, plus I am unlikely to be able to join in unless you're planning it for November. :p

    Although on second thoughts perhaps it wouldn't make the best subject for a 'masterclass' as ideally you should leave it for 3/4 days to really soak up the syrup and ginger and become super moist and squidgy.
