Hi, Can I join in please?

I'm oftern on the Old Style Board and this thread is sometimes mentioned, so I've come over for a look :D

Make-up bag in no particular order:-

    Rimmel Blusher 002 Summer Fever
Vie Precision Eye Liner Slate - this is a twist up liner, the pencil eye lines break on me :o
Vie Eye Shadow - the baked type, I beleive, lasts ages WIBA - Yes :money:
Mascara Full 'N Soft - need another Mascara soon, any recommendation?
Maybelline Superstay - our Market (Leicester) has a stall which sells the testers of these for £2.00 each
Vie Sheer Perfection SPF15 Tinted Moisturiser - WIBA - Yes
This is a good tinted one, I would by again, but I don't use it very oftern, so I'd recommend it.
Rimmel 1000 Kisses Stay on Liner Pencil
    Handbag size SJP Lovely

Wellaflex Silvikrin Hair Spray, nearly empty, I usually buy whatever decent one is on offer.
Sainsbury's Ultradry Cotton Mist Roll On - this was the next cheapest after their basics one, which was quite good enough :o

Herbal Essence uplifting volume shampoo - nearly empty
Tesco Apple and Aloe Vera shampoo
    Sainsbury's Camomile Shampoo
    I don't think I need any more

Two cans of Fructis Hair Mousse, I do recommend Fructis
Tesco Creme Bath, which I use as liquid soap

Tesco Pure Soap, same as Simple

    Just remembered some more
    Aqueous Cream
Spa Natures Essence Body Butter - Christmas Present, I clearly don't use this very oftern do I, its only a small pot
    Dove Rich Moisturising Creme

Welcome to the thread, Linda :T

Your stash sounds quite sensible to me! I did used to have a fair amount of body lotions/creams etc around, because I kept forgetting to use them, I try to make a conscious effort to use them more now, just as well really as I somehow manage to accumulate them without actually buying them...mainly I think they tend to be my daughter's leftovers.

Went to "spend" my Telegraph BS voucher today. My planned purchase was a small tube of the hemp hand protector which was £5 for a small tube last year. however they seem to have discontinued the small tube this year and only had the £10 one:mad:.

Not much on their shelves for a fiver or less that I really wanted that wouldn't have been a fairly random and unwanted addition to the stash, so ended up adding £1, as they didn't have the £4 size and getting this shampoo to try

    http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/_en/_gb/catalog/product.aspx?ParentCatCode=C_Hair&CatCode=C_Hair_Shampoo&prdcode=85039m

also got a free sample of conditioner. WIBA? Can tell you before I've even used it , NO! as personally don't see the need to spend £6 on a bottle of shampoo!!

I definitely agree with the BS hair stuff, as I find it really drying and harsh on my hair and leaves it like cotton wool!!! I do however want to try all the Tigi hairstuff....I sound like a hypocrite! But if you buy the Tigi stuff online and get a good offer it works out the same prices as L'0real and the like!

    QUOTE]

Yikes:eek:, does anyone else find this??? Can't cope with cotton wool hair (BTW great description, I know exactly what you mean) and I definitely don't want to be lumbered with a once-used bottle of shampoo!

I bet they don't exchange goods do they, with being toiletries...oh ****. I wonder if they've got a satisfaction guarantee?? **Goes off to check!**
  • it might just be me! they do seem to sell so i guess if everyone else had the same hair feelings then they wouldn't sell? Give it a go and if it doesn't suit you perhaps ebay it?

Let's see if anyone else on here has any feedback first! My hair is coloured and I do also get that cotton wool feeling with certain shampoos so am a bit wary.

This challenge has so got to me now, plus all the efforts of using up unloved stuff over the year that I actually cannot contemplate the horror of the prospect of having a part-used bottle of stuff I don't like! Feel quite neurotic about it actually!

    haha I suppose that's progress!
  • 2 x UU's to report here - a mini Theramed toothpaste - WIBA? - yes, I use this a lot when I go away for weekends and can often pick them up from market stalls at a bargain price.

Also a GWP size Clinique Youth Surge Moisturiser - WIBA? No - it's no better or worse than plenty of others I've tried, so there is nothing to make me choose this over anything else. I seem to recall that I have a Dramatically Different to go on to next - Woop! Must go and check the stash!

Mention earlier on of the Boots pre-christmas shopping evenings and their usual points bonus has reminded me that I will need to start putting together a list of anything I will need to stock up on by then - I shall do the same as I did last year and combine christmas gift buying with stocking up on essentials to make the £50 spend and net the extra points. Those points will then be put towards stuff I need as the year rolls on. I also need to work out if I'm going to do the "years supply of...." box like I did for OH last year again - if so I shall need to start getting stuff towards that, and also work out what he will actually need - no toothpaste this year as I over estimated what he would use, and to compound the situation he came home two weeks before christmas with 5 tubes of the stuff "Because it was on offer, and it was REALLY cheap!"
