No tax credit payment today???

Hi,
Was anyone else due their Working and Child Tax Credits today? We rely on that money for food (we literally have nothing in) and our payment hasn't went in. I did our renewal a few months ago so it isn't down to that and it has never been affected by a bank holiday before. Confused.
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Forgot to put it in my post that i've been trying to call and it is taking me through the automated steps and then saying lines are busy and hanging up on me. I don't want to wrack up a huge phone bill (only have my mobile) if it's just a system glitch.0

It's not a system glitch.
That happens if too many people all call at once - sometimes you don't even get to the automated system, they just hang up on you first.
Only option there is to keep trying. But not before 2:00 I recommend (as half the staff go on lunch, so there will be even more queues on the lines).
A friend of mine has had it happen today also.
Apparently it's just slow coming in sometimes (?)0 -
Have you checked to see if a double payment went in last week with it being a bank holiday? To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0

Go along to your local Jobcentre and use the phones there for free. The ones in the booths - just be descrete when giving over your personal details on the phone in case anyone overhears you.0 -
It could be because of the bank holiday, although if that was the case you should have received your money last week's friday. Good luck in trying to get through on the helpline, I've always found it to be a nightmare...
I have heard that if you try to call between 3 and 4 pm its easier to get through (because mums are doing the school run).
There is also another number that you can use, its the geographical number for them, although I got into trouble when I used it, but no waiting and got straight through to an advisor. It is 01355 359007.
I wonder if anyone can help me, (sorry to hijack) I am completely new to this and wanted to post a question of my own, however I cant find how to do it...0 -

Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Hi all thanks for your replies.
Unfortunetely not good news
I got through to the tax credits main line and they gave me another number to phone which i found strange. When i phoned them the man on the phone states my payments of child tax, working tax and child benefit have been suspended until an investigation is carried out.
We were made homeless by my fiances father a couple of months ago and were in various temporary accomodations with our son and we were advised to keep our tax credit claim at his fathers address until we found somewhere stable. However my finaces sister has moved in with his father now and claiming tax credits at this address so to their system it looks like fraud and needs investigating.
We only got our private let a few weeks ago and i've been that busy trying to get everything sorted i forgot to phone them up and change address. I don't know how i could have been so careless and now i don't see how we are going to get by on OHs wages while the investigation is complete... AAhhh!! nothing is ever simple
