No murdering going on here - hate is such a strong word though, and it is such a shame that I suspect a small minority of motorcyclists give the perception that motorcycles are nasty, noisy dangerous things.
My OH thought the same when I first met her - now she has:
- a full motorcycle license,
- done her BikeSafe course (a nationwide police-led motorcyclist casualty reduction initiative that is run by the majority of police forces throughout the UK),
- got a full sized motorbike which she rides everyday (she loves the fact that when she meets people and tells them she rides a bike, they assume that she means a moped, then when she leaves they watch her in disbelief as she dons her leathers and this tiny petite female rides off in complete control of a full sized motorbike!),
- and most surprisingly she has gone from thinking bikes are just dirty noisy lumps of metal providing a means of transportation, to having a real appreciation and love for beautifully designed bikes; the Benelli Cafe Racer being one of her favourites.
Like any other social group, a small minority can give the perception that the whole of the group is nasty, but I can assure you that most of us and our bikes are lovely really!Back on firing on all cylinders ( see, keeping in with the bike theme) today.
Loving it Jinty!
As for me - I'm back on the road to recovery :rotfl: after a very poor start to this month - yesterday was another NSD in a row, taking me up to NSD number 9!solventsoon wrote: »Keep going, don’t let the need to eat interrupt your run of NSDS
I'm trying Spoon! I might have to relinquish soon though - my stomach is rumbling so loudly that ... peeps think it's my motorcycle!

Good morning everyone!
No NSD for yesterday, but planned spend stayed small, stuck to my list except for the pull of Multipack of Mccoys crisps - 18 for £1.98 in Mr Atoo good to pass up! My grocery challenge month ends on Monday and for my year to date Im £23 UNDER BUDGET!!!
Went foraging in the afternoon - got about 2lbs of brambles, will freeze and use in smoothies and apple pies/crumbles. There's a couple of apple trees where we walk the dog which are awkward to get at but groaning with apples - I can see me sending OH up to get them!
Today should be another NSD. I'm doing my mystery shop thing today but I get my fares reimbursed, also have my new mascara coming from the bing-bong lady, but the money is in the jar for that!;)
Have a lovely day everyone:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
I hate moterbikes.
I spent too long in hospital as a child & there were lots of lovely young men who had come off their bikes in the wrong way.

Morning All
Going out for the first time since last Saturday, but to friendly customers with nice loos................just in case. Won't be an NSD to-day cos have to do a bit of shopping then Mr Dopey and I are off to the GNR (he's running, I'm the back up wumman), so if anyone sees a small confused wumman with a donkey dressed in rubber (wrong occasion I know but he likes it), two aliens, a panda and a frog balanced on a lilypad, direct me to the finish pleeeease.
Sorry Bikers, I know most of you work really hard at being safe, but you still scare me, I wouldn't let any of my kids get on a bike, I drive 30000 miles a year, and I've seen it all, most of it not the bikers fault but so little protection............More than Two Years in
Doing it the Niddy way:j:j:j0 -

Then I kept I spending diary & was completely floored when it showed bits & pieces in lots of shops over the course of the day, like '£2:99 in Blogs Books, £6:73 in Wilk0; £2:99 for the lovely strong black sacks, 86p for a paper & packet of mints, £4:49 in Soupadrog' & then there was at least another twenty in one supermarket before getting to do my "main" shop in another!
So now I do it the other way round & try to fit in the 'everything else' kinda shop with my food buys. I check supermarket prices /SIZE]HERE & HERE[/URL on whatever I can before I leave the house--we have a fairly decent sized MrS just outside a biggish town in one direction & a corresponding MrT in the other with a smaller MrM in that town--& my bank balance is definitely looking better for doing it this way round because I think 'do I really want it? where shall I get the best value? is X in East Town a better deal than Y in West Town?'. BUT! I must again say that The Offspring are all grown which makes things a lot easier in terms of not having to consider school shoes & the like.
The other day I really could have murdered a 99 & the tinkly man came round about an hour later. I grabbed for my purse & had my hand on the door when I thought 'what on earth are you doing! there's ice cream in the freezer & a tub of 100's & 1000's you've had for blurble-blurble months..use that first' so while I felt a tinge of regret at not helping someone whose trying to earn a crust, I enjoyed my cup of tea instead knowing my nsd was intact & the calories kept from my waist!
[I've read this thru & it makes sense to me cuz I know what I mean..& I hope I haven't bored you all into fleeing for the hills!]
Engines! I lurv engines!! The noise. The smell. Steam engines. Traction engines. Rolls R merlin engines. Not so much new car & bike but definitely older HD & chevvie blocks that purr like a tigress on heat! And most definitely classic/vintage body work! All cars now-a-days look so much alike you're hard pressed to know a ford from a ferrari....My dad always used to say I should have been born with a spout :rotfl:
Sorry--I've rambled a tad todaybut I've got my dozen in a converted egg box apartment..lined it with shredded bumph from idiots wanting me to take out a credit card or asking if I've 'had an accident in the last three years?' Well yes I have but more of Cheryl's bog roll variety & I don't think you'll compensate for a dodgy vindaloo
& they are being a bit fractious so I'd best go sing them a lullaby...

Although I bought sweeties yesterday (not good for the diet nor the NSDs) I went for a 3 hour walk which I hope made up for it. Longest walk I've done in ages. I walked around Rotherhithe, which really is a nice part of London!
But more bad luck for me regarding NSDs... my watch has stopped! So I'm going to have to get the battery replaced today, as I can't live all weekend without my watch. So there goes another NSD that I won't get.
That's three NSDs I've missed out on this month due to things breaking and unexpected expensesYou're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0
