Have a well deserved rest tonight Spoon...you do a wonderful job! :T:T

Declaring today as NSD no 4, had hoped yesterday would be one too, but ran out of paint for the unit I am doing up....so went to B&* and got loads of stuff I would have been getting this/next week, really pleased with the coloured wax for the new wooden handles!!
    Sad or what!!! :D

Also got food from MR T, as DH did only a partial shop on Monday, my fault really, I stayed at home and did some painting and weeding instead of shopping!!

Should get another NSD on Friday this week, but not tomorrow. DH is getting diesel and food for his Star Camp in Norfolk, he heads off once he is packed (about 11). I have an assessment, so will get a few bits and pieces (or may get DH to get them!), and that should do us until Sunday/Monday...it all depends when DS1 is here as the food disappears twice as fast with both boys at home!! DS2 is back to having packed lunches again, so I can see another baking session beckoning!!

For now, I am off to bed...have a great Thursday, will probalby be back on Friday some time...have to get the observatory and sheds sorted for you lot coming on Saturday!!! :)

    Good morning all!

I'm up early this morning - couldnt sleep!

Had a lovely day yesterday , OH enjoyed his birthday and all went well apart from the lunch, where OH and my Dad ordered haddock and chips. Now the restaurant we were in is renowned for their fish and chips but when it arrived, I swear, the fish was about the size of a goldfish. I thought it was a bit odd, but the lads were hungry so they just started eating. I went to the desk to query the portion size and they had put the order through as kids portions.
Meanwhile my Mum and I were enjoying full size salmon fishcakes, yum!;)
I explained it was OH's birthday, hoping for some kind of gesture to make up,but nothing doing!:(
Anyhoo he got lots of nice pressies and his family DID send cards so I was quite relieved at that! :):)

I can therefore report another NSD, #4 for me!! Didnt have any spends yesterday as lunch came out of OH a/c which doesnt count!
Today we're having a day out so OH can spend his vouchers, I may squeeze one today.

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

....4kg dishwasher salt in the 99p shop....
I need to update my spend diary to see whether or not this NSD challenge is reducing any of my spending yet....
According to those on the Preparing for Winter thread [I think?] dishwasher salt is the better choice for laying on icy paths, so methinks I'll ged missen to a shop soon as! We were really caught out last winter as the south coast rarely sees the white stuff & it was past our ankles. I know that doesn't sound very dramatic but when you're not used to it, it's a lot :o
As for the spending diary, it was a  to see how many times I spent less than a fiver during the week, & that soon mounts up to a lot over seven days. I wouldn't think twice of popping in to the supermarket especially to get--predominantly--bananas but of course I'd never leave without spending a tenner on other bits I would 'get while I'm here'. From my own experience, the diary used in tandem with this Challenge has been my financial wake up call; I've at last recognised that the world will not end if I have to use tinned peas because there's no frozen ones & I don't want to ruin an nsd :rotfl:

Your Rules Jedi..your rules ;) For any self-imposed Challenge, it has to be set to your own criteria or it just won't work. As I've said I don't have to think about 'school'--dinners, clubs, subs, etc--& any hobbies are mine alone, but things are very different for us all. For example, I would be very tempted to exclude costs involved for any training I had to undertake for work particularly when you turn up with everything organised & the tutor says "you need this before next session" & you know there's no-where else locally for you to buy it
Everyone needs to find a way that helps you, cuz you're the most important member of this Challenge.

After my preachings I'd like to say I have my 'arf duzz with No 6 yesterday.
