Declaring today as NSD #16
Got my paper from pre-allocated funds this morning, and then went to Mr T for the DVD (and straight from there to see the doctor)
I then bought the milk from my pre-allocated funds on my way home from work - and it turned out to be a very expensive 'bottle of milk' !!
Went over to A!di for it, and happened to spot they had some sports stuff in their offer area (checking back through my emails it appears they're from the offers launched on Thursdays of last week, so I've done really well not to have gone in to check this lot out before now) - nothing specifically for running, but I still managed to spend just under £28 of my (not included) Get Fit budget  The main purchase here was a winter cycling jacket (£15 - and not practical as a day-to-day jacket due to the fact it's white!) which will be great for running on cooler days. It's microfibre rather than waterproof/resistant, but a lot thicker and warmer than the water resistant one I bought from there in 2002/03 (and which I can now get back into
).
I also picked up a pack of 4 arm/leg bands which are reflective and have led lights built into them (can be on as constant or flashing lights) for when I'm out in the dark over the autumn/winter months, plus a bicycle pump (DS took the only one we could find in the house when he moved to my parents) and a set of bicycle lights. Now I need to drag my bike out and check the size of the wheels - firstly 'cos it almost certainly needs new inner tubes, and secondly 'cos I fancy a pannier set so I can ride out for grocery shopping for a change (and the pannier holder in A!di says it fits three sizes of wheels so they're clearly bike size dependant. But they don't have panniers, so I'm going to shop around to be sure the holder will take the panniers I buy)
I have a feeling tomorrow could be a spend day though. If I can get motivated early enough in the morning I plan to head into the City Centre - somewhere I've not been since..... ummmm...... can't actually remember. Other than driving in to pick DS1 up from a train station (or drop him off there) it could very well be since I returned my works pass at the very end of November/very early December 2008 !!! First stop is a sports shop who do some serious work to make sure you get the right running shoes as I'm now totally convinced the shoes I have for road running aren't "right" (DS1 said they don't have enough 'suspension' when he was last home on leave, and after a disasterous attempt at a slow run in them today I'm finally inclined to believe him). Whilst this wouldn't count against me even if they have any I can afford (being a Get Fit purchase) I also plan to call into Em-n-Ess for some jeans (I no longer have any plain ones that fit, but have found their short fitting budget ones to be perfect for me in the past) and a couple of stores to price up (and possibly purchase) some ramekin dishes. I only own 5 - one must have broken at some point - but I've discovered they're a perfect size for individual crumble/sponge pudding, so want more in for when I have space in my freezers to allocate to desserts........ and I'm starting to gain some cracks in the freezers which should get a lot bigger when I start using up bread from them tomorrow
If I do buy anything that counts against me for this challenge, then I also plan to pick up some salad items (have run out of everything but cucumber which is now going soft), some bananas (the ones I have in are only fit for cooking with) and frozen mixed veg (which will use up a fair chunk of the current space, but will also get used fairly quickly). Need to have a quick check and see if there's anything else I'm desperate for before my next D/Debit day (which I think will be Monday with the last on Tuesday)Cheryl0 -
Number 11 for me today. An unexpected one as felt so crappy that I went straight home after work instead of going to the shops. I love it when the only time your purse has been open all day is to put money IN!!
Need milk tomorrow but Sunday should be NSD. Gotta be good next week to hit my target:D0 -
Cheryl - GU make puddings that come in glass ramakin dishes....not necessarily the most MSE but by Gu the puddings are good! My friend was having a clear out and gave me a pile that they had which I plan to wrap up and give as part of my homemade Chutney/Jam gift pack - thought they'd look nice for serving them in.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

According to Mr A's site (where they're £2 for a pack of 2), the one that requires heating has instructions for oven and microwave cooking - so they must be safe for both those options, although the oven temp is considerably below what I'd be looking to use them at.
But they all say 'do not freeze' so not sure they'd be totally safe for that
EDIT : Just checked the manufacturers website, and it says
Q: What can I do with my ramekins?
Can I re-use my ramekins? Yes! We recommend that ü reuse ür ramekins for the following:
- As a plant pot for ür garden herbs
- To keep ür stray buttons in
- As a tea light holder for a romantic night in
- To serve ür nibbles in with a cheeky glass of wine
However, once ü have enjoyed ür puds, we do not recommend that ü reheat or freeze ür ramekin, as this can cause them to crack.
Can I recycle my ramekins?
Yes, be güd and recycle our ramekins which are made from standard glass and therefore can be recycled with your bottles and jars.Cheryl0 -

Och! that's rubbish about being advised not to reuse them - wonder if that is a ploy to make you buy more?I read the tip about nibbles for a glass of wine as 'use for a cheeky glass of wine' :rotfl::rotfl: oh dear, and I haven't even been on the plonk tonight!
BTW - did I mention earlier that I finished paying off one of my credit cards and cancelled it today :j:j:j sadly that doesn't mean I'm debt free but it does mean that I only have one left to focus on :T:T hopefully I can clear it in about a year - or perhaps even less (but I'm trying to save too as although I agree with tackling the debt, I also think you need a rainy day fund for unforseen expenses)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I have a week off work in November which (should) include at least one spend day (D/Debit for C/Tax), so I plan to try and finish off as much of the rest then as I can (by spending a day in town and an evening doing on-line shopping if necessary)
Just need to start compiling a list of what I've already got for whom, and ideas of things to get for those I still need for........Cheryl0 -

(hangs head in shame), just realised there must be 2 Jim Reeves & you're not thinking of the funny one, who i think covered Wild Thing some years after the original, i shall shuffle off & concentrate on the Manic's instead!!!!
No need to hang your head in shame, BDINI, you're far too young to have even heard of Jim Reeves... that was Vic Reeves (as I think kerri has posted later on) whose real name is Jim Moir - mystery solved:D:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
