Well, maybe not, but the main header on the 'scrap bit of paper' or 'litter' they posted on the windscreen said "PENALTY CHARGE NOTICE" :eek:0

If they actually said that, then they are breaking the law(and the BPA code of practice) by imitating a council parking ticket. Could you scan us a copy of that ticket? That would be very interesting to see. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Save that paper, they have just lost any court action they may bring, trust us, it is game over if you have that one bit of paper with those words on...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Trisontana - I just sent you a PM as I cannot post images yet.0

Here is that ticket PM'd to me by the OP:-

As you can see they are breaking the law by not only using the words "Penalty Charge Notice" but also "fine".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
It would be interesting to see their V888 application to the DVLA, under reasonable cause they would have had to put to recover a penalty or fine!0

is it worth informing an authority or Southport Council?0

Yes, I think it is. They are pretending to have authority when in fact they are a two-bit parking company with no more power than you or I to demand money off people. The best people to inform are trading Standards and The DTI.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Sefton trading standards email address!
epd_tradingstandards.north@environmental.sefton.gov.uk
They point you to consumer direct if you go to their website so try a direct email first!0 -
If we have identified the correct ISS I note that they are not members of the Approved Operator Scheme. Although it doesn't look as though the OP has had any written communication from them as yet one wonders how ISS are going to get details from DVLA given that supposedly any parking company applying for registered keeper details whether in writing (and certainly by the "electronic link") must be a member of the British Parking Association AOS?
As an aside it is interesting to note that once again the current BPA AOS listing (Click here) continues to show as a member a company - Worc Solutions Ltd - that has been dissolved and cannot therefore trade in any capacity. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
