I'm sure having your FIL with you is adding a lot of extra pressure, even though he is welcome.

I like my routines and my own space and 3 weeks is a long time to have relatives stay, do you think this will turn into a permenant arrangement?

    Hi Rum,

    Sorry you're a bit down.

It is frustrating when you feel that it comes down to you to do everything.

It won't be helping having FIL there even if he is welcome cause it is an added pressure.

Hope that things are looking brighter today x :)

  • Thanks all! Feeling less grumpy now and starting to catch up with work. Starting to think FIL might be semi permananent  but a bit more relaxed again now.

Planned to go to a firework display last night but got home late, Mum phoned, raining and too exhasted. Hope there is one somewhere tonight, I haven't been to one for ages. :(

Figures looking better now. Have enough saved for Santander which needs paying in December and have started saving towards final debt (money we borrowed from rental property) but being realistic, we will need to use this and might even temporarily have to postpone payment on the credit card as we now have to pay balance for furniture, skiing holiday, need spending money for Christmas Market and something else, oh yeah... Christmas
Still, not bad progress and it will be lovely to have nice bedroom, and some treats in Dec and Feb.

    Morning Rum

Glad your not quite as stressed.

It was lashing it down here last night as well, not that there are any displays going on round here. The last two years there has been a free one on the common but now the residents have complained so they're not allowed anymore, what a bunch of miserys!

Well done on getting the money saved for Santander, sounds like you have everything under control :)

  • Feel like we're getting there now Woo, but it will slow down now and might even grind to a bit of a halt over Christmas, still, providing we have a plan it should be ok. Just trying to catch up on your diary to see what's been going on this week.

Hello you three, really sorry I've been absent for a while. Just snowed under trying to keep up with work, sort father in law out and keep the budget on track. Next mission is to try and find some time to spend with my husband!

Father in law is going home tonight, he's been here 5 weeks. It's been good because it has meant we haven't worried about him but it's been hard work! We've got 3 weeks peace and quiet now and then he's back for Christmas!

Only 3 weeks until we go to Munich now. We went into the Christmas Market in Manchester yesterday, I had a nice mulled wine but we didn't stay long as it was a bit much for FIL.

We have managed to save the money for the santander card but have gone off the wagon a bit now with the holiday, weekend away and furniture. However, I do have lovely bedroom furniture now (well half of it, wardrobes arrive on Thursday) it only took us 3 years! Need to get back to budgeting now, though Christmas shopping will make a bit of a dent in the budget plan.

How are you all? I've missed you. I hope you're all sending pennies to Lloyds and your totals are tumbling! Have I missed anything exciting?
