I wasn't too worried when I heard A & L were becoming part of Santander, obviously the power of advertising, I thought if they sponsered Jenson they must be ok! We had nothing but trouble since the migration though and judging from other posts, so did a lot of people. First Direct have been fantastic though.
I won't hold that against Jensen though ;-)
Feeling a lot better thanks Jody, went back to work today but only had to do a morning. Not much voice and still coughing but actually felt better. Hopefully better again tomorrow!0 -
I opened a Santander account to get the £100 bonus, no problems as yet, but sounds like maybe I should switch straight back after I've got my money!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

You have to use the switching service so all my DDs went to them and then I had to put at least a £1,000 through the account a month to get a 0% OD.
Rather than switch my salary to them I set up standing orders to put the money through them and then back to my account.
Bit complicated but worth it for the £100 and a £1,500 OD at 0%!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Hi RP
Hope you've had a good week, you on half term now?
Have you got a holiday booked yet, or at least chosen a destination lol?

Hi Woo
Yes half term, well it's nearly finished now
It was parents evenings last week, I've still got a virus, father in law is staying and my computer has been playing up so I haven't had much chance to catch up with the forum.
Good news ski holiday booked today, St Anton! It's been a long time since we booked a holiday this early, we've got ages to look forward to it now and we have until the end of November to pay the balance.
Clearing the debt is going well but I've got a bit spend happy now! Husband got the weekend in December he requested so we've booked out Munich flights, we ordered some bedroom furniture last weekend, time to replace the canvas wardrobes we've been using for 3 years that were supposed to be temporary and now the ski holiday! Think I need to slow down now, as recent spending might slow down clearing the debt.
I'll check your diary and try and catch up with what's been going on!0 -
oooh i love booking holidays in advance
seems to make it seem more exciting as you get longer to look forward to it

Hi Rum
Glad your back on line, have missed having you around!
Yippee for St Anton, that will be awesome! And Munich, you have lots to look forward to xxLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Welcome back RP, it's been quiet without you!
Sounds like you have a lot coming up to look forward to but don't fall off ze wagon
. I feel your pain on Canvas furniture, I have 2 canvas wardrobes and 2 chests of drawers and they sway all over the place and the covers are ripped
, I had them at my mums for a few years before we took them apart and rebuilt them in our flat a year and a half ago. I almost bought some new bits earlier this year but decided it would be too much hassle to take the bed out to put them up so I'm going to manage with them until we move again.
I'm such a tightwad these days :rotfl:
