Seeing the other side of step children is hideous but fascinating. Have Greenbee and I chosen the only mature, responsible, educated and reasonable absent fathers?
YES or at least, nearly the only ones.
I wonder what my DHs XW says about him? She sent a then 7yo boy on holiday for a week (that I paid for) with one pair of underpants despite her earning more than the average couple at the time, and taking the vast majority of our 'disposable' income!
*gently* I think that money would have been for the children as child support unless I have the wrong end of the stick?
Too right I sent him back with the 7 pairs I had to buy in Fuerteventura unwashed - petty but enjoyable. They can't be the only ones, but it does look like it... he sent his kids back with their clothes washed AND ironed, and collected his ex from the station after her holiday (having removed all the rotting food from the fridge as the kids were too scared to eat anything in there)
Well good on him. He has the moral high ground, best place to be!
Anyway, more importantly I'm now an auntyI saw my nephew briefly yesterday afternoon and am about to drop my mother off for grandparents' hour. SIL is hoping she'll be home tonight, but the baby isn't feeding yet so they're threatening to keep him in. Given that he's got nasty bruises from the forceps, I'm not surprised he isn't interested in eating - he must have a major headache... but perhaps piggers could send some of Freja's feeding vibes over in this direction for him
congratulations!!! Hoping they don't get poorly trained m/wives who try to force formula on him, I think they can go 48 hrs after birth without needing to feed, he was feeding right up until the cord was cut of course.
Hopefully they'll get it sorted out, but if they're still having difficulty I'll be back here to get advice, as I know there are lots of flyladies with experience in this area...froddington wrote: »I have no motivation and could quite easily give up on everything

Afternoon all, and Congratulations Auntie Greenbee.:DHi everyone,
Is there room for a small one next week? Really need to get the house in order after the school hols and before the winter sets in ...... looking forward to getting started
Farmer's Market produce has been purchased - I sent Mr LW to do that; car has been checked over -one of Mr LW's weekly tasks; and he's now ploughing through the weekly ironing pile. *Pauses to crack whip*.
Candy & Cameron managed NOT to wee on the kitchen floor last night :T We suspect this may be because we covered the floor with newspaper before we went to bed!:D They're both flaked out at the moment; Cameron is in his bed, and Candy is on the lounge floor. I did hang both their beds out on the line for a bit this morning, to air (they have beanbags), so I hope the dogs appreciate it.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Grateful - nope, DH paid more than half of his wages then (against the 20% the csa require for child maintenance for two children), and more than her set outgoings of mortgage, bills, child care, food, etc despite her higher than his income, because he is a nice man who minds what happens to his children, and we gave in to 'pay per view' with my full support and permission. Our outstanding case with the CSA/ICE is about what she owes us for the child she abandoned, not about what we owe her - which is paid in full, up front, every month long before there was even an assessment in place. Not all absent parents are bad, parents who do not take responsibility for their children quite frankly disgust me. It depresses me how few seem to act on their responsibility. If he couldn't pay then I would.
surely child support is for just that - food, clothes, school trips? Not full sky movies, gym, new cleaner and gardener and a sports car for her - all new after he left. I treasure the comments of the judge when she claimed to be living in poverty and the judge pointed out those things as perhaps coming in the luxury category.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
I stand corrected, then hex. You're right, it breaks my heart when KH promises DD1 (small) toys and then lies about being unable to find them anywhere(dur, internet) when really he refuses to spend anything over the csa minimum on principle.
Actually we don't need his money, would rather he just behaved like a 'uman being. But since it is his only contribution, he can jolly well make it.
DH is happily mowing with our new ebay mower, once I explained to him about engines flooding and he got it started...Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Congrats to Aunty Greenbee, and Mum and Dad of course!
I have been sorting out Nanan's farm! She rang earlier to say she was off out and would we harvest and plant more strawbs for her :rotfl:
Was the Christening of friend's GD today (the one with the tumour) really nice service and very well behaved babeAlthough the water in the font was not stone cold which did help.
Last day of the school hols tomorrow and we are off to Manchester to the Lego place, W's treat for completing his word listOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

not a correction, just it would break DHs heart (even on a relatively anonymous forum)if anyone thought he didnt fund and support his boys. It devastates him when she lies to people about it - she told the CSA this week that we are in arrears - and it horrifies him that others don't. There are some good absent parents and I am proud to have ended up with one of them :A.
It shocks me that people pay the bare minumum and think it excuses them from buying birthday presents etc. Mind you we have just been presented with a £1500 bill for a trip to South America with school that we would never have signed off for our pair.....'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Hex hun, yep its been hard but thankfully hadn't had to deal with the poison for a few years now....noticed that usually in these cases the money you pay is always good enough though isn't it!!
I met hubby about 5 years after they split up and divorced, however think his xw couldn't stand the fact that his children liked me and went all out to strangle the life out of the relationship...stupid really, if my children had had a stepmother I'd be really happy that there was someone else on the planet who was interested in their welfare. Some people are off their heads.;)
Too right. I was handing the kids over to exH and his partner (this used to happen in town because DD had a dancing class on a saturday and he'd pick her up then, but I would have DS with me until their dad came) and I was trying to tell him she was expecting AF (or AF was here and she might not have what she needed) and his partner picked up on what I was saying (euphemistically and discreetly because DD was embarrassed) and partner said she'd sort her out with stuff all before exH latched on. DD has been to car boots with her and everything. (I don't do car boots because I am easily offended when people try to pay fluff-all for my fabby antiques :rotfl: )Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
