Well I've just put the last of mount washmore in the machine, after hanging out another load to dry in the beautiful sunshine we have here at the moment - looks like we may finally be getting our summer! Took elderly ex-neighbour to the doctors this morning and also to do her shopping and collect her pension. She insisted on paying me £15 - £5 for taking her, £5 for helping her with her shopping, and £5 for waiting with her in the doctors. I told her it was too much, and she knows I'd do it anyway, but she insisted, as she said I could do with a bit of spending money as I've not been working over the summer. Bless her!

Have been keeping up with the dailies, and swishing and swiping, but haven't really stuck to the lists. I've been helping my friend with her lesson plans, as she starts at her new school on Monday, and is very stressed about getting it all done - the problem is, I've got lots of ideas, and she's not answering her phone! Hopefully she'll call me back later on today.

Well I'd better crack on with the planning, as there's lots to do, as she's just sent me another 3 subjects' worth!

Hugs to all those who are feeling poorly or down at the moment! Sounds like there are quite a few of you unfortunately.

All my love to my flylady friends, particularly tootles, LadyL, Diva and Soappie.

    Happy flying everyone!

Sexy IMO that's above and beyond there...

I would offer to read through plans and add suggestions but ideally she SHOULD be doing her own planning.

What HAS she been doing all summer?

Thursday ~ Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
Vacuum floors and sofas Done by Mr LW; we're planning to wash the sofa throw after Candy & Cameron go home (Sept 11th)
Catch up on phone calls.. make necessary appointments .. and sort out insurance policies that need renewing soon!! Just 1 call needs doing; Mr LW has been given the task.
    Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything Done
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe No clutter. (No stairs either, for that matter!)
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets Done
    Level 3
Wipe light switches, sockets (make sure they are not switched on!!) and banister Done (no banister)
Clean any other glass like mirrors, pictures etc Done
Tidy shoes, coats and bags .. wash any that need washing. See if there are any that don't fit, past their best or just plain uncomfy which could leave the house! All tidy; there's only the 2 of us, so no kids to organise.
    Extras

    1. Paperwork clearance.. spend 15 minutes minimum sorting through those piles of paper. All up to date.
    2. Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself Done by Mr LW
    3. Clean a window or two. Done
    4. Get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be, or better still give them to their owners to put away themselves N/A; anything not in it's “right” place is there for a reason (eg I'm keeping a fleece in the kitchen while C&C are here, for quick visits to the back garden)
Done as much as I can manage today.

I may have to ditch the extras til the end of next week; Candy & Cameron are very sweet little dogs, but quite demanding, so I suspect quite a bit of my time (and spoons!!) will be dedicated to them.

Next Tuesday will pretty much go by the board anyway, as I have a hospital appointment in the afternoon; from experience, that means being there ALL afternoon, and the morning will be taken up with seeing hat C&C are sorted out and comfortable so that they can be left, making sure I have proper notes to take with me (as my mind goes blank the moment I get through the hossy doors) and generally panicking (likely to be spending a large proportion of the morning in the loo.:()

It's 5 days away, and already I'm getting stressed.:(

What HAS she been doing all summer?

I know what you're saying, and she does owe me big time, but she has had quite a tough time as her parents who live in Thailand have dumped their son (her brother) on her, and he has lots of mental health problems, and she has basically ended up being his carer - she's also had to help her Nan to look after her young cousins, and a lot of the planning has had to be done from scratch. I'm just adding in all of the curriculum references and key questions for her, and checking spelling and grammar etc. She is meant to be being my bridesmaid, but said to me the other day that she may not be able to afford to go any more, so I'm hoping that helping her out will convince them to give her a longer term contract so she'll be able to afford to go - not completely altruistic I know. :o

Have just put an order in for regular calming vibes for you over the next 5 days, LW. You and Mr LW seems to be getting very popular with canine lodgers, too. You must be very good hosts.

First two soups have been portioned up and the last one (cauli) is almost ready. I've boiled some tiny new pots for a potato salad, but can't make up my mind how to dress them - either crispy bacon bits and mayo or mum's recipe (onion, vinegar, gherkin, boiled egg, frankfurters, mayo). I could save the bacon to go with soup for DS1's breakfast...

Still got the cakes to do, so I best move my bum off the sofa.;)

That's what I'm worried about, and I think she is too - it's only her parents that don't seem to see what a terrible situation they've put her in. It's the school as well though, as they've given her hardly any support with her planning at all - they just dumped a load of files on her, that are all in a complete mess with bits missing all over the place. The deputy was understading of how overwhelmed she was, and emailed the head, but all he said was that she had to do all of the planning, as Ofsted are expected this term. Personally, I wouldn't want to work for a school like this, but it's up to her really. At least from week-to-week, she'll just have her literacy and maths plans to do, rather than history, geography etc. It wouldn't be so bad if they'd taken her on on a proper contract, but she's been taken on through the supply agency, so she's only getting paid a supply rate, as she still has to submit timesheets.

Games plan completed - off to hang another load of washing on the line.

ARGH *insert rudest word you can think of here*

Here's one for you flyladies - who can tell me how to get nail polish off of walls, clothes, bedsheets, well just about everything really, including a two year old boy?

Was taking advantage of him playing nicely in his bedroom to clean the bathroom - or so I thought until he came into me saying "pretty" after apparently trying to paint his toenails with silver nail polish. Cue silver toes, sandals, legs, hands, t-shirt and strangely, forehead. I've got it off of almost everything but the clothes and sheets...ARGH.

It just makes me think why do I bother?
    So, there are these boys,
    They kinda stole my heart,
    They call me Mummy
