I'm afraid I have no idea, and very little info on it. It's the same price instore, maybe worth a trip to have a look see?

Remembered reading of problems with cars with heated front windscreens. The heating elements in the glass block the signal so the unit cannot get a lock on the sat. I read this on an SME thread.

The spec for this one says internal antenna.

I'm no expert just thought you might want to check the before buying.

I think Halfords shops install for free, don't they? May be worth them getting it working before you drive away...

  • Navsure is halfords own brand and they only started selling them in June this year (according to the web pages I did a search on) - maps dont look like a garmin and the web page is a little short on details - like can I load POI's.

I'm sure I saw an ad for an Navman icn330 at the same price in currys - todays paper (where I also saw the halfords ad.)

  • Ga! - the icn330 is on the halfords website as a web special at £99.99

but at least it confirms the general downward trend - I can wait a month or 3

Indeed - a few manufacturers have just released new units, and there's a certain annual event just over 3 months away. Could be interesting!

    What... Hogswatch?? :)
  • Looks like a good unit. Has a touch screen which makes it better than the Garmin i3 immediately. The software looks to be Navigon 5 / MioMap v2, which I use on my Mio A701 and think it's great. Better than TomTom in some ways, but not as good in others. On balance I like MioMap better than TomTom though.
