Cash on collection

I sold and item last night collection only. I know I got to accept paypal but I did write in the description Cash on collection.
After the item sold I wrote to the buyer a message with our address so he knew were to collect (he lives 10min drive from us) and I asked for cash on collection in my message.
2hrs later he pay by paypal.
I dont want to lose my money if he collects it now and then put a claim in he never received the item.
Not sure what to do now, refund or hope the guy is gonna play it nice.
It is a LARGE box so posting it is not an option.

I would refund the money and print it out to prove it when he comes with the cash.0

That's no good. If the buyer opens a INR dispute then the seller will have to prove tracking with a tracking number.
If I was the OP I would get the buyers phone number and phone them up and explain that I would like cash on collection and tell them I will be refunding the paypal payment. Apologise for the inconvenience and be extra nice with them and I'm sure they will be ok with it.My daughters are my world0 -
You can also offer to accept slightly less for cash as you will not be paying PP fees.emerald_starcat wrote: »That's no good. If the buyer opens a INR dispute then the seller will have to prove tracking with a tracking number.

I'm not lowering the price. I sold it £10 cheaper than anyone else to ensure a quick sell and avoid posting the item0

I've tried contacting the buyer but the number given is no longer in use. I now refunded them and emailed them, hopefully they will be understanding they got 100% and over 2000 feedback so at least they are not new to Ebay0

Be aware that the Buyer would be quite within their rights to do a Non Performing Seller strike against you, and to leave you negative feedback.

But the seller stated they only accept cash on collection. I had the same problem once on a item that was won for a £1 and the buyer paid by paypal. I refunded them and they paid cash on collection without a problem.Quidco Earnings (since Dec 06): £467.750 -
don't worry you've done the right thing, remember you don't have to sell anything to anyone if you don't want to. Sod what ebay rules say!
If your only willing to sell your item for cash on collection thats up to you and i don't blame you. If this happens to me i always refund straight away and politely email to say sorry for the bother but it is cash on collection please.0 -
Fine until you get a few negs or claims for NPS. It's not a good strategy for selling long term on Ebay.lindseykim13 wrote: »don't worry you've done the right thing, remember you don't have to sell anything to anyone if you don't want to. Sod what ebay rules say!

You can sod Ebay's rules at if you like, but I'd rather keep selling.0
