I agree definately cuteness and an excellent job :T i 'tried' to make a sock monkey but with size 3 feet i never realised i actually needed a larger sock lol, their wasn't enough sock for my sock monkey, so i turned it upside down and put eyes a nose and stitched teeth and whiskers, added a tail to the back and hey ho it was a sock rabbit :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Blogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -

Love the Marth Stewart idea of candles in egg shells...........would that work with putting a tea light inside one ? Might have to experiment with that cos never made candles before.
Where do all these ideas come from;)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi,
been lurking for a few days reading posts and getting inspired to make some gifts for family and close friends. I am going to do pamper hampers for both my sisters and looking for a pattern to make some towelling/satin ballet pump style slippers. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a simple pattern I can sew basic things and going to try and borrow a sewing machine from MIL.
Actually looking forward to Christmas after reading this thread, thank you for the inspiration now I just need to sort out spare bedroom and reaquaint myself with the craft supplies stored in my attic.0 -

Hmm, not too sure Mary-op, the martha ones had the tops off them and then they had popped them into egg cups and obviosuly poured in the wax, Candles are reaaallly easy to do lovely,
You need,
wax, wick, wick tabs, glue dots (my choice lol) i use crayola crayons now for dying candles as its cheaper than the normal wax die. and fragrance/essential oil if you want scented.
You do:
Melt the wax, if your making t-lights, shell candles or votives, you can just pour the wax straight into it, then as it sets pop in the wax,
otherwise thread your wick into the metal wick tab, I always knot the bottom to stop it coming out, glue dot the bottom and then stick it into the middle of your container or egg shell :rotfl:
Get a bamboo stick (100 for £1 morrisons) stick it through the wick (it rests on the edges of your containers to keep the wick straight.
melt the wax, add your crayola crayon once melted, add fragrance and pour, leave to set them re-pour a little more as it will dip in the middle as the wax pulls the dry wax down. :T that's it all done.
I was wondering if you wanted to join our swap hunny? i have a range of patterns, from bath and beauty recipes to sewing and crochet, knitting and embroidery patternsBlogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0
