Not sure where to post this but think it's probably useful here!
A tip I wanted to share on making flavoured vodka is to add your flavouring ie skittles, polos, toffees etc to your vodka. Seal the bottle tightly and place in your dishwasher next time you run it on a cycle. The heat helps the flavouring to dissolve.
We used to be regulars in a bar where they had an amazing flavoured vodka menu and this is how they made it . Flavours included mars bar, bounty, skittles, refreshers, in fact most confectionary.
Sounds odd but it really does work! Enjoy experimenting...0 -
I was in Birthdays (the card shop) today and noticed that they sell clear cellophane bags 8 for 79p, useful for pots of gold, snowman soup etc. They are 5"x11.5" "loot bags" and were in the party bag section.0

skittles make lovely colours IF you use them seperately
lined up they look like something straight from an apothercary
mix them, you get sludge:(0 -

Hi Lovelies
Not sure if this is any good to any of you but you may remember I wanted to make my own crackers this year and didnt want jokes or paper hats (hope thats not a bit humbug, just fancied something less cheesy) well I've finally found some nice little quotes to put in my crackers instead of jokes and thought I'd post the link in case any like minded people were after something similar

chasingsunshine -love the quote idea in the home made crackers. For the 'gift' inside you might pick up some cheap christmas earrings/brooches at craft fairs -can't think of anything for men though.........always seem to draw a blank there...........lol:T
esmer -love the stocking..:T........what is a 'thingymabob ??
pennib - great sock monkeys:T
OH got me some post it notes today -(really wanted green but he got yellow.......all the shop had apparently) so I can finish off my kitchen organiser.
Have sorted out sons girlfriends pressies for birthday and christmas, covered a smaller box for her christmas stuff, checked through christmas cards..........all done except one for sons girlfriend so I';ve done that now...........just need to do birthday cards for her and my grandchildren's 18th.
Seemed to have a small collection of stamps OH keeps getting me every week so half the cards now have stamps on and ready to go...............lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

basically when your book is open flat, you cut 2 bits of ribbon.
On each of the covers (front and back covers) you attach one of the bits of ribbon,
halfway down the cover you stick the ribbon so that the ribbon sticks out horizonatally off the page, and the same on the back page so when the book is closed the 2 ribbons come together to tie like a shoe lace. (or like a secret diary) the ribbon would tie where a padlock would be)
I'm always up at stupid oclock so will upload it later.
Hiya........
Me again ;-) did you do that tutorial?
